Introduction

This car was brought to the UK in 2022 by a prominent car collector, who purchased it from the Chairman of the Maserati Owners Club in Sweden in 2018. As the photographs show, the car is in great condition aside from requiring engine work.

Having owned it for just over 14 months, I'm selling due to requiring engine work (details below) - it's currently not running, but is in very good condition otherwise.

Exterior

Exterior is in excellent condition, with minimal corrosion: the paint is in great condition, and all the glass is still etched with the Maserati mark.

Wheels and Tyres

All wheels and tyres are in good condition, with only minor marks to wheels as photographed.

Bodywork

The bodywork is in great condition overall.

There's a small area of light surface rust to one of headlight casings, and small bubble to one rear window frame.

The front valance has a crack to the plastic and damage around the tow-eye, as photographed.

There are a couple of minor marks to the paint, as photographed.

The underside, including sills and wheel arches, is in excellent condition as can be seen in the photographs.

Paint

The paint is in excellent condition all around.

The car has had restoration at some time and therefore the paint remains in excellent condition, with only couple of minor marks. As you can see in the photographs, it has a lovely shine to it.

Glass and Trim

The chrome trim is in excellent condition, without any pitting or marks.

The class all around the car is etched with original Maserati markings.

VIEW ALL

Interior

The luxurious blue velour interior is in amazing condition, and the most comfortable car seats I've ever sat in. It's like sitting in your Grandma's favourite chair!

Seats and Carpets

The luxurious blue velour seats are in excellent condition all round, and great for comfort.

The carpets in good condition throughout, and the car comes with Maserati floor mats.

Maserati fire extinguisher is present in the foot well, and the boot still retains its original tool kit and jack - in a Maserati carpeted cover.

Dashboard

The dashboard is in great original condition, with no cracking - although the lacquer is lifting in places on the veneer as photographed.

The sought-after Maserati clock is present, although not functioning.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The brown leather steering wheel is in great condition.

The gear stick is the original wooden type, with Maserati branding: a real thing of beauty!

Mechanics

This car boasts a 2 litre, V6, twin turbo Maserati engine. The first production twin turbo engine brought to market, developing 180bhp way back in 1986.

Engine and Gearbox

The engine and manual gearbox are original to the best of my knowledge.

Sadly, the engine is currently a non-runner. Engine last ran early September 2025, and is not seized: it still turns over.

An initial inspection has shown damage to the piston/valves in one of cylinders. Two other cylinders had small traves of moisture, whilst the remaining three cylinders showed no obvious damage/moisture.

Further, more detailed investigation required to fully diagnose fault and work required.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension and brakes were all operational and functioning well when last run.

The Drive

The car is currently a non-runner.

Previously, it required a little choke to start, and ran well once warmed up. As expected with the brand, the engine/exhaust sound was amazing.

Electrics and Other

The car is equipped with electric seats and windows, all of which are operating fine.

History and Paperwork

My car was imported from Sweden in 2022 by a prominent UK car collector, who purchased it from Chairman of the Maserati Owners Club in Sweden.

Overall, engine issues aside, this car is in great condition: it's a real time warp of a vehicle.

The MOT expired in September 2025, and I've not renewed it as the car is currently a non-runner. It will qualify for historic MOT exemption from 2026.

There are a number of receipts/invoices for re-comissioning work completed on import, including replacement timing belt and new battery. There's no history prior to import.

The car is being sold as a non runner and without current MOT due to engine work being required. Initial inspection has revealed damage to piston/valve in one of cylinders, however further investigation will be required to assess full work required.
