The GranTurismo S is Maserati’s flagship Grand tourer. Being the 'S' it is better equipped featuring an enlarged 4.7L V8 shared with Alfa’s 8C. With a top speed of 183mph and 0-62 in 4.9 seconds, the uprated S is more than just an engine transplant, it also features a new exhaust, brakes, stiffer fixed-rate dampers, larger wheels, headlight clusters, and many more sporty upgrades.

This example owned by a bit of a Maserati fan, has had some choice upgrades to further improve the looks and handling in the form of the MC. Finished in black with red leather interior, it has all the drama you'd want from an Italian sports car.

Exterior

Head swivelling Italian styling with its large grille upgraded light cluster, 21” wheels. We think this is one of the best-looking gran tourers out there.

Wheels and Tyres

Just look at those 21” / 22” ADV.1 wheels on this black stallion. They certainly add a lot more drama to the overall look on this GT.

While looking over the car we did notice some areas of minor curbing. All the wheels are wrapped in premium rubber, the tyres still have lots of life in them – perfect for the new owner to enjoy. Please take a look at the images and videos to appreciate these wheels.

Bodywork

With sleek and sexy Italian styling, we really like the body shape of this car. All panel gaps look tight and correct on this example.

The car has been upgraded with Stradale edition front splitter and rear carbon fibre spoiler on the boot, a low and sports focused look. This has some cracks/scrapes as you'll see captured in the photographs from its years of servitude. Take a look through the video review to see the detail.

Paint

Finished in a beautiful deep black, we really like the look and colour combo of this car, with its contrasting red interior.

The paint on this car looks even in finish and colour all over the body panels. With the aggressive sports styling on this car, there is significant road rash on the front end along with lighter stone chips on the rear wheel arches. Please view the exterior media content to appreciate this car.

Glass and Trim

The glass and trim on this car look great, all the rubber seals look excellent along with the glass.

The lenses have been upgraded to have clear indicators on the lights. We did notice some condensation and moisture in the headlights, this is a common problem for the GranTurismo S, and something that can be easily attended too. View the images and videos to see the glass and trim in full detail.

Interior

The finest quality Italian interior to be found inside this luxury grand tourer; red leather seats, embossed headrests, detailed stitching.

Seats and Carpets

A nice finish is carried through to the interior. We love the sporty appeal this car gives. The seats are finished in red leather, they have some light age related wear. Take a look at the video for a detailed view.

Dashboard

Sporty and sophisticated. The clean and crisp dials with an electronic screen give you all the details you'd ever need while touring is the Maserati legend.

The red leather is coming away in certain areas of the car, like above the glovebox. Please take a look at the videos to see the dashboard on this car.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A luxurious yet functional steering wheel and paddle shifters put you in full control of the 4.7L V8.

The steering wheel is finished in red leather, with various buttons a finger touch away. The car also features shift paddles to put you in full control. Please view the images for an extensive view.

Mechanics

Listen to the roar, then the tuneful hum of this Maserati GranTurismo S as it starts from cold on a frosty morning.

Engine and Gearbox

The GranTurismo S comes equipped with a mighty Ferrari-Maserati 4.7L V8 which can also be found in the Alfa Romeo 8C and a gearbox shared with Ferrari's F430.

Watch the video to hear it burst in to life, what a sound. When we started the car we did notice a few warning lights on the dash. The adaptive lighting control flagged up and occasionally the gearbox had to be operated a few times to select reverse.

The seller informs us this car has the MC Shift option fitted, enabling quicker gear shifts via the automated manual at the correct rev ranges.

Suspension and Brakes

The large upgraded Masarti brakes are fitted on this example - and they all look really clean. The owner reports that the car stops just as it should. The seller also reports the car offers a firm and sporty ride that is comfortable enough for long tours and weekend breaks.

The seller has informed us that this car is fitted with Stradale upgrades in the form of fully adjustable suspension, you'll see the invoice for this work in the paperwork section. Please view the exterior and mechanical videos for a closer view of the brakes and suspension.

The Drive

We really like the power and the looks this car has to offer. A real head turner.

Electrics and Other

Boasting 11-speaker bose audio system and a hard-drive-based nav system this car is packed with mod-cons. By inserting CD's you can save your music onto the cars HDD. Very modern technology still to do this day.

Lots of electrics feature all wrapped up in one of the best looking cars from the 00's. A true future classic. As mentioned, there were some warning lights like tyre pressure etc when performing the cold start, and we noticed one of the front parking sensors is missing too.
