Introduction
Darren Rungasamy
A continental tourer with space and refinement, beautiful, and a quality act, the R107 is a popular classic for many a reason.
The well regarded and long-lived R107 Mercedes roadster characteristics are defined by its handling and road holding, with emphasis on comfort and refinement. When first rolled out to the public in 1971, the series of luxurious tourers were not cheap, and while they were not considered particularly sporting cars, offered plenty of space, practicality and almost peerless build quality. These valuable assets endeavoured the R107 as the brand's flagship convertible for an impressive 18 years.
Registered in late 1971, this well-restored 350 SL is likely to be one of the earliest RHD cars in the UK. Fitted with the desirable rear seat, it has been the recipient of over £17,000 pounds worth of work in the last 6 years. The exterior has been finished to a high standard, with a solid structure and its trademark smooth V8 engine carrying the car with typical poise and grace.
