Thanks Chris, I misread, its the hood cover. Have you any images?
Hidden underneath the hardtop are two marks, probably made when removing the roof, one the diameter of a 5pence piece the other half that size. These have been painted over and there is no rust by someone prior to my owning the car. When the soft top is in use these marks are just visible where the hood meets the bodywork. Considering the very small marks which are hardly noticeable it is not worth the expense of spraying the whole back of the car. I would include a photo but it means taking the roof off.

Can you explain why mileage is 79800 in video and is now 80600 with work carried at 80100 in April 2025, are the photos and video a year ago with a couple new photos showing latest mileage?
Yes, the video was taken with the mileage at 79800, I have since moved from Surrey to Lincoln and the SL shop work has been carried out last year and the mileage increased by 800 since the video.
Hi Chris, Did the SL shop produce a condition report for you as I believe they sometimes do and could you also please comment on the state of the bulkhead given this model’s propensity for bulkhead rot with associated expensive repairs, please? Many thanks.
Yes the inspection looked at ‘Drain holes/operation. Corrosion to blower motor chamber. Inner bulkhead section condition. Outer lower grilles/corrosion /drain holes and Water test to check leaks into vehicle. They all were good.
I notice that the wheel arches may have been resprayed can you please give a summary of what paintwork and bodywork has been done during your ownership
I don’t know what makes you think the wheel arches have been resprayed, they haven’t. Since I have owned the car the only bodywork carried out has been the removal of bumpers and new brackets fitted.
Could you also confirm the hood is dark brown, as it left the factory and not black?
The hood is dark chocolate brown.
The MOT expirestomorrow 12/03.. is the car being sold as is or with a new MOT?
I believe as the car is now 40 yrs old it doesn’t require an m.o.t however it is having one on the 18th March.
