Introduction
Paul Wright
The G500 is an excellent 4x4 in standard form - but it's even better now Brabus have had an input!
The Mercedes-Benz G500 Brabus is a rare, high-end variation of the classic Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV, specially tuned and enhanced by German performance house Brabus. Brabus adds performance upgrades like a larger Brabus-modified V8, as well as making exciting styling upgrades to the wheels, interiors, and bodywork. These Brabus-treated G-Wagons are known for combining the G-Class’s legendary off-road capability with serious luxury and enhanced performance, making them highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
This 2000 G500 Brabus - a 5.0-litre V8 with bespoke bodywork - comes to market with just under 56,000 miles, which is relatively low for a rare and desirable car that's now 26 years old.
This listing was written from information supplied by Paul after meeting Faizaan the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

The reserve is close to being met, good luck!
Thanks,

What a car this is, I’m surprised that I’m the highest bidder! Owned a few in the past and this is by far one of the best specs I’ve seen around. At this rate I might have myself a bargain!
Hi Faizaank
Hope your well
I am interested in this G500
Owned many in the past…. Including old interior versions like this….
But where on earth is the Gear lever gone for the High and Low Transfer box ???
I know its not a B58 (5.8) brabus as the engine a basic M113 but factory brabus still have this H/L gear lever infant every g wagon has this…
Please comment on this as i’m intrigued to know where its gone..?
The lever is still present in the vehicle; however, it was intentionally blocked off by Brabus to ensure it no longer influences the vehicle’s performance. Should someone prefer to have the lever installed and operational, a replacement can easily be sourced online and fitted without difficulty.
Thats impossible, all brabus’s had the lever present ! I should know i owned x3 over 26 yrs. Btw this is not a brabus.! The wheels are brabus yes. There no red engine cylinder i can see pointing to a 5.8 Litre… instrument cluster shows no brabus sign, no paperwork indicating any modifications correct? The exhaust is after market.
I think you need to understand this is a G500 thats it.
If your adamant this is a BRABUS i think you may need to prove its pvorevenace!
I will bid on the basis its a G500 LWB AUTO.
I can contact brabus in Bottrop Germany as your chassis number is at the top of the page they can confirm everything its a simple email.
Thanks
Gb
Not all Brabus G-Wagens were 5.8 conversions. Brabus offered several upgrade levels for the G500, including packages that retained the original 5.0 litre engine with ECU tuning, exhaust, suspension and cosmetic upgrades.
The 5.8 was simply the flagship engine conversion, but many Brabus-modified G500s remained 5.0 litre vehicles. So the absence of a 5.8 engine does not automatically mean the vehicle cannot be a Brabus conversion.
The chassis number is visible in the listing, so the most straightforward way to settle this would be to contact Brabus in Bottrop and confirm whether the vehicle appears in their records. If confirmation is obtained either way, it would be useful to share it here to prove that I’m right. I shall also email them myself to comfort all other buyers to show that it’s genuine.
Any news from your email
To Brabus?
Yes. They have said that they can’t provide anything to show it’s a genuine brabus due to a server crash in 2004 which resulted in a data loss, but from the pictures I have sent them, they can confirm that it’s a genuine brabus. It’s up to you weather you want to bid for the car or not. Good luck!
Hi i am confused at the minute…. So I got in touch with Christian Baum an old friend at Brabus facility.
(I am basing it still on a G500 if i bid).
He mentioned there was no record of this vehicle ever being at brabus. And no record of this car having any accessories added by themselves.
The wheels are possibly brabus but these were can be bought anywhere.
1. Is there a red engine square plaque in engine bay near air box?
2. Instrument cluster shows no brabus dials.
3. Exhaust is after market as he kindly sent me images of period correct rear silencer exhausts.
4. No Front lip spoiler – he sent me a period picture of what the car should have instead of the added metal bars.
5. Light guards can be bought on ebay- not actually in any catalogue from 1997/2005
* like you said there no evidence supporting this is a brabus.
* The car was auctioned at Iconic auction on 27th June, 2020 which also mentions on that website there is no evidence either. – with no supporting evidence
Also i’m
Looking at a g500
On autotrader for £22k with later interior with low miles too.
Where do you see this cars value?
Whether you bid or not I’m not bothered. I’ve got a good offer from someone which I’m ready to accept but just need the auction to end on this website. You’re better off buying the one from AutoTrader.
What if it hits £12,000-£15000? It will sell at that price?
Why don’t you just bid and see whether you win the car or not
Do you know where it was first registered? The reason I am asking is because I live in France and if I bring it here I would need to pay VAT unless the var has already suffered VAT int he EU.
Why are you selling it so soon after buying it and how many miles have you done in the car?
It was first registered in Germany. The reason for me selling so soon is because I travel a lot so I don’t really get to enjoy the car as much as I would’ve liked too, so I’m selling seen as I’ve had my fun with it and I can get something more for a daily basis use. Since ownership I have added between 200-300 miles.
Actually this was registered in Dubai first btw!
I am a mercedes fanatic! I am uploading the full factory spec below for everyone …..
