Introduction

These CLKs are superbly built and engineered, extremely reliable, smooth & fast, and fabulous looking. I've also found it highly usable.

I have owned this car from new - ordered to my chosen spec. of Brilliant Silver metallic paint over Grey leather interior - and collected directly from Hamburg in 2000.

I am slowly reducing my small collection of cars as I no longer use them as much as they deserve. I'd love to have kept it but I have to be practical.

There are lots of optional extras on the vehicle, including:
AMG wheels and sports suspension.
CD player and cupholder.
Electric drivers seat and memory for seat and mirrors.
Wood and leather steering wheel.
Parktronic.
Xenon headlights.
Automatic climate control.

Exterior

This is the face lift model, in stunning Brilliant Silver metallic paint, with AMG alloy wheels, sports suspension, black hood, and grey leather interior. Lots of extras from new. Fabulous looking car still turns heads !

Wheels and Tyres

The factory AMG alloy wheels are in very good condition, with one or two minor chips to the rims. They're 7.5 J fronts and 8.5 J rears.

The tyres are 225/45 17 at the front and 245/40 17 at the rear. The condition of the tyres recorded at October 2025 at last MOT (see Perfect Touch invoice) as follows:
NSF 62% worn
OSF 62% worn
NSR 15% worn
OSR 15% worn

The car has covered just 15 miles since then.

Bodywork

The bodywork is generally in very good condition with just a couple of issues. I have tried to show these all clearly in the photos.

Paint

The paint is even in colour and has hardly faded at all considering the age of the vehicle.

Glass and Trim

The windows are all good, and the external trim is generally good.

The black rubber sealing beads between the bottom of the wings and sills has broken in places and would benefit from renewal.

Additionally, the headlights need polishing.

Interior

Beautiful grey leather and Elegance model wood trim provides the classic, quality Mercedes look.

Seats and Carpets

The seats and door cards are all in very good condition, with very few small marks or scratches. The drivers door card has small tear along a seam that could be repaired.

The trim along the top of the drivers door, below the window, is slightly loose.

Carpets are generally very good. The original Mercedes carpet protector mats show some signs of wear commensurate with their age.

The headlining is in good condition.

A plastic trim around the rear window is broken and needs replacing.

Dashboard

The dashboard is in very good condition, with no apparent cracks or fading.

The dials and instruments are all good.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel is the original optional walnut and leather item in very good condition, as is the gear selector - exhibiting only a few marks commensurate with age.

Mechanics

This car was built to a high quality by Mercedes. It's in very good mechanical condition, with only a few areas requiring attention.

Engine and Gearbox

The engine and gearbox are both original.

An oil leak was noted at the front during the MOT test on 31.10.25

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension and brakes are all original and working well.

Wheel bearing play (near side and off side front) was noted during the MOT on 31.10.25 and rectified by Perfect Touch 04.11.25

Brake pipes (near side and off side) were noted to be corroded (monitor advisory) during the MOT on 31.10.25

Only 15 miles have been covered since then.

The Drive

The car starts first time, and has been very reliable. It drives very well, feeling fast, smooth, and suffering no unusual. bumps rattles, or noises.

Electrics and Other

Electrics generally all good with the following exceptions:

The electric drivers seat sometimes does not move forward but operates on memory function.
The electric door mirrors sometimes do not operate perfectly.

The automatic roof does go up and down, but it is a bit clunky as I haven't previously used it for quite a while. I think it would benefit from some lubrication at the joints and where the rubber seals meet.

The trim around the rear window also needs looking at which will help I think.

It is the original roof.

History and Paperwork

I've owned this car from new, and its history is all known and recorded. I first bought it through my company (of which I'm still a director) and have always been recorded as the registered keeper.

Serviced from new initially by Waterhouse Mercedes Chelmsford, then in latter years Sunnymede Autos.

No major non-service work.

    Hi Dave,
    Sorry didn’t read the message until yesterday.
    Service book stamped up to Feb 2017. After that some work has been done but the book not stamped. I started paying the bills either by cash or using friends at local garages, i have most paperwork which I can share if you buy:
    Nov 2017 front bottom ball joints done by a local garage called Sunnymede.
    May 2018 Waterhouse, OS rear door seal, AC regas. Small leak identified around petrol filler cap.
    May 2019 Waterhouse, service B inc oil & filter
    and dust filter. Loose trim around rear screen noted, catalyst breaking up. ( i think I got the latter done by a local garage but canyfind papers at the moment )
    Aug 2021 Waterhouse, service B inc oil, filter and dust filter.
    Oct 2025 Perfect Touch, free vehicle health check pre MOT.
    Also tyres and battery renewed at various times during vehicle life.
    I bought the car new from a Mercedes supplier in Hamburg in Nov 2000. It was ordered from mercedes to my spec. And it is full UK spec. I have the original paperwork.
