Introduction

I love this car, never park it without looking back and it's brilliant to drive. It's a beautiful Mercedes SLK in Calcite White with Bengal red leather interior. Lots of money has been spent on this practical, modern classic.

I've owned this car for 2 years and loved it! But I'm moving house and there's no room for my 4 cars.

With the electric vario roof it's wonderful on sunny days, and remains toasty whatever the weather due to the heated leather seats, air scarf, and folding hard roof.

The car benefits from ceramic coated original paintwork. It looks great from any angle - a car that puts a smile on your face

Wheels and Tyres

It comes with 18 inch alloys, and I've replaced all the tyres in the last 2 years with a quality brand.

Great grip whatever the weather!

Bodywork

The bodywork is in really good condition. There's a small ding on the passenger rear quarter. The rear bumper also has a small crease where the previous owner backed into something, but it really doesn't stand out.

Mercedes covered the bodywork with a 30-year guarantee.

Paint

There are a couple of small stone chips on the front bumper and hood I need to touch in, but I've left them for now to show it's an honest car

Glass and Trim

All glass and trim in great condition- I even paid £50 for the drink holder insert as it bugged me it didn't have it.

Interior

You can feel the Mercedes quality of this roadster the minute you sit in it. With its leather interior, the car feels great to drive. It's comfortable and refined.

Seats and Carpets

Bengal Red leather seats which are heated and have airscarf. The leather is soft and supple and comfortable even on a longer drive.

Tailored floor mats personalised to the car registration and with red trim to match the seats.

Dashboard

Dashboard is in black leather and is in great condition, with no cracking or peeling.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Black leather steering wheel in good condition.

The automatic shifter is perfectly placed and can be switched to sports mode at the push of a button.

Mechanics

Replacement engine less than 6 months ago. New turbo, new alternator, new abs sensors, new iridium spark plugs and new coil packs.

Starts 1st time every time.

Engine and Gearbox

Engine was replaced with a reconditioned unit Dec 2024. While that was done new turbo went in, new alternator while it was accessible. New timing chain, oil seals and regularly serviced by my local independent specialists.

Suspension and Brakes

Suspension and brakes all good.

The Drive

This car drives beautifully. Smooth and refined around town and drives like a sports car when you want to.

Sports mode is a button push away and you feel and hear the difference with a beautifully raspy exhaust note.

The car always feels planted and predictable.

It has traction control, stability control, and all the Mercedes refinement.

Electrics and Other

Everything works. The electric convertible roof, the electric windows, mirrors are all faultless.

Heated glass rear window, heated seats, airscarf make this practical year round.

Upgraded headlights make visibility like a new car.

Fitted reversing sensors and reversing camera to make it even more usable around town.

Original stereo with sat nav all work great. Replaced the command wheel mechanism with an aluminium shaft rather than the plastic, which resolves a common fault.

Mercedes service history and nearly 6k in receipts for work I've had done - so the big jobs have been tackled.

This car has been cherished in my care.

Serviced less than 6 months ago and mot with minor advisory to clean a brake pipe.
I have invoices and receipts for c. 6k I have not spared money on making this car a great SLK.
Includes SLK private plate.
Also includes professional fitting of a unit to make the original stereo Android auto and Apple car play compatible.

Hello,
Looking at the invoices (as far as I can), has the replacement engine done 72K miles, or was that the original engine? If that latter how many miles has the replacement one done and was it obtained from MB? Is it still under some form of warranty?
What happened to the original engine and why did it and various ancillaries need replacing – sorry about all the questions!
Lastly, does it have Bridgestones all around?

Hi Paul,
Apologies for the delay, I was away.
This time last year I was driving and the engine started making noises like a steam train and metallic scraping on deceleration about 3 miles from home. Limped it back and took it to my local specialist who said problems deep in the engine are often more cost effective to sort with a replacement engine. I bought a replacement which turned out to be no good so the independent specialists sourced a replacement. They weren’t 100% happy with that one so they got another. The engine had 65k miles, had new timing chain fitted and as my original turbo would probably have had oil with metal swarf run through it we decided a new turbo was best. The engine was fitted in December 24 and came with 12 months warranty. I have probably done less than 500 miles on this engine.
Yes Bridgestone tyres all round.
