Hi Roy, thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions. I completely understand that you were unavailable when I asked about viewing the car last week.
As I’m now carrying out my due diligence based solely on the listing and the information provided, there are a couple of points I’m still trying to satisfy myself about. I appreciate that you carried out the restoration yourself and have explained the work undertaken, but without the original build invoices or a photographic record of the restoration, it is naturally difficult for me to independently verify the engine rebuild and the provenance of the Heritage shell.
Looking closely at the gallery, the fairly heavy application of Tetra Schutz underneath also makes it difficult for me to visually inspect the underlying metalwork or independently establish the shell’s origin.
Could Trade Classics please confirm directly whether, during their physical inspection, they were able to verify any British Motor Heritage plaque, specific body stamping, identification number or other physical evidence confirming that the shell fitted to the car is a Heritage shell? If anything was identified, it would be helpful to know exactly what was inspected and whether this was recorded or photographed.
Similarly, if Trade Classics were able to see or verify any supporting evidence relating to the 2017 engine rebuild, I would appreciate confirmation of that too.
I’m simply trying to establish what can be independently verified before deciding how far I’m prepared to bid.

Restoration/history:
From the MOT history, am I right in thinking the restoration was completed around 2016 and that the speedometer was replaced/reset at that point?
Do you have the original Heritage shell invoice and photographs/invoices documenting the restoration and engine rebuild? If so, is there any way of asking Trade Classics to add photographs of these to the listing.
Recent use:
With its very low mileage since 2021, could you advise how it has been stored during those five years and has it been serviced during that period or in preparing it for sale, particularly engine oil/filter, coolant, brake/clutch fluid and fuel system?

correct. restoration finished 2016/17 fitted with new speedo ( magnolia faced) driven to LeMan classis 2018 but has only had limited use since 2021. Regularly started and run , no issues as you can see in the videos.
No invoice for heritage shell as this was bought from a third party who bought it for his restoration but did not go ahead with it.
All oils , filters etc changed last year.
Car stored under a cover and in insulated garage. Has never been driven in wet conditions

no photographs or invoices. Didnt keep invoices incase wife got hold of them and always regret no doing a history of the work

Does the car have its original engine and if so has it been round the clock to show its current mileage? Was any work done on the engine during the renovation apart from that mentioned in the description? Is it solid underneath and are there any mots or inspection reports to share? Many thanks

it has the original engine and engine number is listed on the heritage certificate. Engine was overhauled during rebuild, head changed to unleaded, electronic ignition fitted. It is fitted with a heritage shell and this was applied with a tetra shutz coating underneath. Also all sills , door interiors etc where all wax oiled.
