I purchased the car as a restoration project, with a clear vision of building an MGB to my own taste and standards.

Over the course of his ownership, the car was carefully restored and upgraded throughout, resulting in the beautifully presented example you see today.

Now offered for sale simply due to lack of use, it’s ready to be enjoyed as intended by its next owner.

Being picky, at the time of visit there were just some noticeable marks on the driver side of the car.

Engine and Gearbox

Mechanically, this MGB benefits from a host of thoughtful upgrades carried out during its restoration.

The car has been upgraded with electronic ignition, an alternator conversion, and a 12v battery setup. It also benefits from an unleaded engine conversion, making it more practical for modern use.

A big bore stainless steel exhaust and K&N chrome air filters enhance both performance and sound.

No unwanted noises were heard at time of visit and can be heard in the On the Road video.

Suspension and Brakes

Upgrades include front disc brakes, improved shock absorbers, and a single rear spring conversion, improving handling and drivability while maintaining classic characteristics.

The car has been converted to negative earth and fitted with LED front and rear lights, along with a Kenlowe fan for improved cooling.

This MGB Roadster is accompanied by documentation that highlights the work carried out during its restoration and ongoing ownership.

Included with the car is a detailed list outlining the extensive work completed, giving a clear overview of the restoration and upgrades undertaken. The car also comes with a fitted MG cover and two sets of keys, adding to its practicality and appeal for its next owner.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

    Does the car have its original engine and if so has it been round the clock to show its current mileage? Was any work done on the engine during the renovation apart from that mentioned in the description? Is it solid underneath and are there any mots or inspection reports to share? Many thanks

    it has the original engine and engine number is listed on the heritage certificate. Engine was overhauled during rebuild, head changed to unleaded, electronic ignition fitted. It is fitted with a heritage shell and this was applied with a tetra shutz coating underneath. Also all sills , door interiors etc where all wax oiled.

    What is your reserve policy?

    A reserve is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for their vehicle. We work closely with sellers to set realistic reserves that reflect current market values — we don’t take on vehicles with inflated or unrealistic expectations.

    If the reserve isn’t met when the auction ends, we’ll work with the highest bidder to try and agree a deal with the seller.

    Whether the reserve has been met may / may not be disclosed during the auction — just like a traditional auction house. Bidders usually find out if they’ve won only when the auction ends.

    As a guide:
    – If you’re able to place a second bid, the reserve hasn’t been met.
    – If you attempt to outbid yourself and the system blocks it, then the reserve has been met.

    Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

    Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

    Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes. To guarantee your bid, we recommend at least five minutes are active on the auction when you place your bid.
