Introduction
Paul Wright
The square jaw gave a more sophisticated look to the classic Mini.
Taking the original rounded Alec Issigonis design, the Mini Clubman was introduced with a longer front end and flatter grille, giving a more conventional look that aligned with the styling of the early 1970s.
Changing the interior layout, the Clubman instruments were moved in front of the driver rather than the centre; this improved visibility of the instruments and gave a more modern feel when behind the wheel.
Available with a 998cc or 1098cc A-Series engine, both offer modest performance and excellent fuel efficiency and, thanks to the low weight, the Mini is great fun to drive.
This 1973 Clubman has been owned by Lee for the past three and a half years, he purchased the car to save it from deteriorating any further, carried out the necessary bodywork and gave it a mechanical recommissioning.
A great opportunity to get behind the wheel of an iconic British classic at entry level money.
This listing was written from information supplied by Paul after meeting Lee the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.
