Introduction

Glyn Parry
Professional Consigner and Photographer

Timeless British craftsmanship meets pure driving enjoyment - one of Britain's most iconic sports cars.

Blending timeless British craftsmanship with an engaging, back-to-basics driving experience, the Morgan 4/4 is one of the few cars that truly bridges the gap between classic motoring and modern reliability. Hand-built at Morgan's historic Malvern factory using traditional coachbuilding techniques, each 4/4 retains the unmistakable character that has made the marque legendary for over 80 years.

While its sweeping wings, bonnet, and frame pay homage to Morgan's rich heritage, beneath the classic styling lies dependable modern engineering, making it a car that can be enjoyed with confidence on today's roads. Lightweight, responsive, and wonderfully analogue, the 4/4 rewards every journey with a level of driver involvement that few contemporary sports cars can match.

Whether carving through country lanes, touring across the UK, or simply attracting admiring glances wherever it goes, the Morgan 4/4 offers a unique ownership experience unlike anything else on the road.

This Morgan is equipped with some choice extras from the current owner including; a leather bonnet strap, Kenwood radio / CD player and a Morgan storm cover. Extras previously fitted, include a Librands luggage rack, Librands door checks, a ‘Le Mans-type’ fuel filler cap and Two Eared wheel spinners on each of the black wire wheels.

Combining handcrafted quality, iconic styling, and enduring appeal, this example is ready for those in the market for something a little more analogue or an up to date classic motor. The 4/4 represents a superb opportunity to own one of Britain's most cherished sports cars.

This listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting John the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

Purchased to fulfil a lifelong dream, the Morgan has been cherished as the purest expression of the marque.

We met the current owner, John, who told us more about his experience of owning the car, "Buying a Morgan, was the fulfilment of a long-held dream of hitting the road in such an iconic, fun and retro sports car. I chose a 4/4 because, in my mind, it represented the purest form of the marque, being a modern representation of the original 1936 design".

John tells us more here, "Much to my surprise and delight, my wife fully embraced the Morgan experience, proving, I suppose that you don’t have to be a male ‘petrol head’ to enjoy this marque".

As time has gone on with John's beloved Morgan ownership, time has dictated that he passes on the privilege of Morgan ownership. "I really want to ensure that someone takes on the Morgan who will really love it. I'd like it to go to another fun-loving, discerning driver, for them to experience this all-weather, unique sports model to the full. All in all, I am sure that whoever buys this car, is investing in an amazing, one-of-a-kind, year-round, motoring experience".

John will be happy to answer any questions into the comments section below.

Exterior

Hand built craftsmanship and an unmistakable exterior - every angle celebrates over 80 years of traditional sports car design.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with 15" multi-spoke wire wheels finished in black with Morgan centre spinners, these appear in a good condition with minimal scuffs or corrosion noted. With no signs of any major concerns during our visit, these appear to be well kept, just a clean over would improve the looks.

A spare wheel with luggage rack is fitted to the rear of the car, John shows us that this is in as good a condition as the other wheels.

The Morgan is fitted with Continental tyres, the tyre spec showed with 165/80 all round - these were dated from 2015 to the front, 2014 to the rear and likely to be original.

Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels, and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old.

image

Bodywork

Looking over the Morgan on our visit, the car maintains good visual panel gaps and both doors and bonnet open and close smoothly. The leather bonnet strap was a great touch to the front of the car.

When we looked over the car, we didn't see any major visual signs of marks to the body panels. There were jsut some minor signs of corrosion to the bottom of the door edges and base edge of the rear panels.

We've highlighted our observations in more detail through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take the time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

image

Paint

The smart white paintwork has an even finish across all the panels, overall showing nicely. There were no signs of any major concerns with the coverage.

The Morgan showed its class well, although we did note a small mark and paint chip on the front driver side which happened during storage. We also spotted some signs of paint cracking to the rear light.

PPF paint protection is in place on the front panels and lower rear sections. The PPF had been removed on the front drivers side wing and rear passenger wing. There were some notes of the adhesive still being present on these sections, but, with a little cleaning, we were confident this could be easily removed.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there yourself. Please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car to form your own opinion about the condition of the paint.

image

Glass and Trim

The glass on the 4/4 looked in great condition, in line with the age of the car; we didn't notice any cracks or discolouration on our visit. The window seals look to be well maintained.

A Morgan badge is in place at the front, Williams Morgan decal to the rear, and to the sides, Union Jack badges sits in place. The chrome sections showed without concern and we didn't note any signs of pitting or issues here. Trim sections are all present and correct.

The Morgan is supplied with the soft top roof as a convertible option. We noted a very minor mark on the rear passenger side but nothing that was concerning. Also included with the car, is a Morgan cover for storing the side panels, when not in use.

We've taken you around the car in greater detail in our exterior review video, please take the time to look over the video and see how the glass and trim look from different perspectives.

image

Interior

Step inside and it's beautifully simple, classically trimmed, and designed to put the focus firmly on the joy of driving.

Seats and Carpets

The black leather seats present well throughout, showing only light signs of age to the bolster and base edge sections. A simple but supportive interior.

The main carpet of the interior showed in a great condition and underneath the carpet showed no concerning issues with the flooring.

We've captured high-resolution photos and a full interior video tour through the car. This covers off the angles inside the car for you to review and appreciate the condition of what's on offer here in our interior review section.

image

Dashboard

The dashboard presented well with no visible cracking, warping, scuffs or marks when we visited the car - the dash showed ~21,114 miles on the clock.

All the numbers on the dash area appeared clear and legible and the clocks and dials presented nicely when looking over the drivers section. The switches and controls all appeared to be in excellent condition.

Gauges, controls and interfaces were functioning without concern when starting up the car and out on the road and all dial surfaces were free from fogging. We noted no warning lights displayed when driving.

image

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A sporty three-spoke Moto-Lita wheel and centre Morgan badge is fitted with a wooden grip - it presents in a nice condition, although could benefit from a light polish over to the silver interior sections.

The black gear stick and gaiter looked good with numbers clearly legible.

We've captured high-resolution photos for you to review and check over the condition of the interior in our gallery section.

Mechanics

Powered by a lively Ford-sourced engine, the Morgan delivers an engaging driving experience that perfectly complements the car's lightweight, analogue character.

Engine and Gearbox

After starting the Morgan up, the engine sounded lovely - we didn't notice any untoward noises either at start up or whilst on the road. Running the car gave us no cause for concern and the engine idled steady when stationary.

John reports no concerning issues during his ownership, with the 5-speed manual gearbox delivering power seamlessly. Out on the drive, the car moved well through the gears, reinforcing its analogue character.

Take a look at the mechanical video to see the car starting from cold, driving around some local roads, and for a closer look underneath the Morgan and the engine bay.

image

Suspension and Brakes

We noted no knocks, bangs or other issues from the suspension when we were driving, and it gave us no concerns in its performance or handling.

The underside of the car showed without major issue, just some light notes of corrosion to the bare metal and track rod ends, although inline with our expectations.

The brakes felt to have no pull or vibrations that stood out to us when on the journey, and brought the car to a stop without a problem. Overall the car performed as to be expected and without issue on the road.

Please take a look over the mechanical videos and photographs to see close-up images from under the car.

image

The Drive

The Morgan 4/4 delivers a truly analogue driving experience, combining lightweight agility with a wonderfully connected feel to the road.

Its responsive steering, modest power, and classic chassis setup make every journey feel engaging and mechanical in the best possible way.

John tells us more about his driving experience with the 4/4. "The 1,595cc Ford Sigma engine and Mazda gearbox, together with the characteristic Morgan steering and suspension, ensure a memorable and exciting motoring adventure."

More about involvement and character than outright speed, it offers a pure, nostalgic drive that celebrates traditional British motoring at its finest.

Please watch our on the road video in the Mechanical section to see the car being taken on a run around the local area.

image

Electrics and Other

In his ownership, John has fitted the car with a black leather bonnet strap, a Kenwood radio / CD player and purchased a Morgan storm cover.

Extras previously fitted, include a Librands luggage rack, Librands door checks, a ‘Le Mans-type’ fuel filler cap and Two Eared wheel spinners on each of the black wire wheels.

All switches, dials, and gauges appear undamaged and in great condition. Regarding the electronics, John mentioned that he's had no real issues here, confirming everything working correctly to his knowledge.

History and Paperwork

Hand-built in Britain and rooted in over a century of tradition, the Morgan 4/4 carries forward one of the world’s longest-running sports car legacies.

In June 2026, the rear brakes and cylinders had works completed, these were rebuilt and bled as part of this service. Regular servicing has been carried out in intervals through 2015 to 2024, the last set of works completed here was in April 2024 with oil, filter and a belt change completed.

The 4/4 is complete with its Morgan service and record book.

The car recently had finance outstanding - however, this has now been paid and you can see the settlement confirmation letter in the paperwork. Plus we've re-run the HPi check and it's come back clear too.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.
