Introduction

Isaac Wass

Needing little introduction, the Nissan GT-R is a car synonymous with raw and unrivalled performance.

The Nissan Skyline GT-R was first introduced in 1969 featuring a 2.0 litre in-line six engine producing 160bhp and utilised advanced technology such as its DOHC setup and independent suspension, this soon became the foundation for the supercar killing ‘Godzilla’ that we know today. Following a 16 year hiatus the GT-R was revived in 1989 under the ‘R32’ nameplate, only this time the GT-R came with a beefy 2.6 litre twin turbo-charged engine capable of producing 276bhp and packing yet more advanced technology for its time including the ATTESA ET-S all wheel drive system, allowing it to dominate Group A racing in Japan and Australia.

In 2007 Nissan unveiled the much anticipated ‘R35’ GT-R, marking a significant change from previous generations by introducing the 3.8 litre twin turbo-charged V6 engine, producing a blistering 480bhp and utilising an improved version of the popular ATTESA ET-S all wheel drive system as well as introducing a dual clutch transmission and sophisticated vehicle dynamics control system. Since the introduction of the R35 GT-R there have been numerous revisions, culminating in the 2011 facelift model that received updated styling and improved engine performance, giving the R35 an increased output of 530bhp.

This particular example is a 2015 model year car coming to market in solid white paint with black and red leather interior, showing only ~22,964 miles on the clock and boasting a claimed power output of ~620bhp thanks to its customisable Cobb tuning system.

This listing was written from information supplied by Isaac after meeting Ray the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

Having come from a rather quick Nissan 350Z the GT-R simply felt like the natural progression and as soon as I drove one I knew I’d made the right choice.

Ray has always had a penchant for fun cars, having previously owned a Nissan 350Z he’s no stranger to the joys of JDM cars, so he knew what he was looking forward to with the GT-R. When shopping for the right car he found this example, on the market with only 1 former keeper who had slightly modified the car, including a custom exhaust, minor cosmetic changes, and the addition of a Cobb tuning box boosting the power output to a claimed ~620bhp.

After a short yet exhilarating test drive he knew he’d found the one and quickly sealed the deal, now the proud owner of a Nissan GT-R. Since buying the car in 2018, Ray has kept on top of servicing and maintenance as expected, making sure the car was only ever serviced by Litchfields - a renowned performance car specialist more than capable of looking after this calibre of machine.

When speaking with Ray he has truly enjoyed his time with the car and does not wish to part ways with it, but due to moving overseas the cost of transporting and registering the car is too much to justify and he has therefore decided to find a new owner for his pride and joy. Ray told us the private plate will not be sold with the car.

Exterior

With its aggressive stance and aerodynamic body lines, the exterior of the Nissan GT-R pays homage to the iconic styling cues of its JDM heritage.

Wheels and Tyres

The GT-R comes from the factory with 20” split spoke alloy wheels, finished in a dark metallic grey, these are in good condition overall however there is some slight curbing present on the drivers front wheel as can be seen in our exterior image gallery below. Aside from that however the wheels are free of any other such damage.

The wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, a fantastic choice of tyre for a car of this calibre, and they are DOT marked 2018 making them around 5 years old. There is a good amount of tread remaining on the tyres, not having yet reached the indicator markers, and the outer sidewalls appear undamaged and free of any major wear.

Bodywork

The bodywork of the Nissan GT-R is in great condition overall, with no misaligned panels or obvious damage. There is a slight crease to the front of the drivers side rear wheel arch, however we believe this could be tackled with relative ease by a paintless dent repair technician without the need for a body shop.

We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our high resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view at what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

The solid white paintwork is in good condition, with no obvious blemishes, scratches, or scrapes to be seen. The colour match and paint texture is even across all panels and there are no major stone chips to be seen on the bonnet, bumper, or wings.

Again, we have taken high resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves. The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these high resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The glass around the car is in great condition too, with no major scratches, chips, or cracks to be seen. The surrounding trims are also in good condition, with no major signs of wear either.

Interior

Boasting supportive and comfortable Recaro bucket seats, the Nissan GT-R is a comfortable place to be whether you’re on the motorway or the track, with its perforated leather steering wheel and large well placed flappy paddles offering the driver that ultimate race car feeling.

Seats and Carpets

The black and red leather Recaro bucket seats offer fantastic levels of support through the corners and are in great condition, with no major wear visible on either seat.

Likewise the carpets are in great condition too, with no major wear to be seen throughout the cabin.

Dashboard

The leather clad dashboard is well kept, with no marks to the hide and no damage to the switchgear or infotainment screen either.

All buttons and switches work as expected and the carbon fibre effect centre console is in good condition too.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The perforated leather of the steering wheel is free of any damage or major wear, with no missing stitches and is otherwise in great condition. Likewise the automatic gear selector is in good condition too with no noticeable wear to the gear knob or surrounding trim.

Mechanics

Producing ~620bhp from its 3.8L twin turbo-charged V6 engine, the Nissan GT-R is capable of accelerating from 0-60 in sub 3s and tops out at a mind numbing, and electronically limited, 196MPH.

Engine and Gearbox

The formidable 3.8L twin turbo V6 under the bonnet of the Nissan GT-R is an extremely capable and finely tuned piece of engineering, with each engine being handbuilt by one of a handful of highly skilled technicians, with this particular engine being assembled by Tetsushi Matsumoto (picture in media section).

During our ‘On The Road’ video you can see the engine start at the touch of a button, settling into a high idle as per cold start procedure on the GT-R. Whilst out on the road the car performed faultlessly, with smooth and slick gear changes thanks to the dual clutch automatic transmission and frighteningly responsive acceleration at the touch of a pedal.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension on the GT-R seems to be in great condition, with no untoward noises coming from any of the corners during our time with the car. The ride comfort is fantastic and does not compromise on the handling of the car whatsoever.

The GT-R features front and rear brakes consisting of Brembo six and four piston monoblock callipers respectively, providing exceptional braking performance under all circumstances. These performed fantastically on the day, stopping the car quickly and without issue. Likewise the discs are in good condition, with no major lipping present and the brake pads appear to have plenty of metal left too.

The Drive

The Nissan GT-R is a car built with one thing in mind; performance. Delivering ruthless acceleration, pin sharp handling, and unmatched exhilaration are the defining points of the GT-R, making it very hard not to like. With precise engineering at its heart the Nissan GT-R is a car unlike any other.

Electrics and Other

On the day of our visit all electrical systems appeared to be in fully working order with all exterior and interior lights working as they should along with all switchgear in the car too.

The car has had its catalytic converters removed, however it does have a current MOT and the original catalytic converters have been retained by owner Ray should the new owner wish to reinstall them.

History and Paperwork

Coming to market with only one previous owner, ~22,964 miles on the odometer and a full service history, this 2015 Nissan GT-R is in a prime position for new ownership.

Currently MOT’d until October 2024, and most recently serviced fewer than 200 miles ago in October 2023, this Nissan GT-R benefits from customisable mapping courtesy of a Cobb tuning box, this boasts increased BHP and torque gains but can easily be set back to standard performance output. Overall this is a lightly modified but well presented and well maintained example that is ready to be both driven and enjoyed.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a HPi check on the vehicle.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in high resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.
