Introduction

Paul Wright
Professional Consigner

With a more modern feel over the 996, the new 997 S also has the larger 3.8-litre flat-six engine.

Porsche are world-renowned for engineering top-of-the-range sports cars with blisteringly quick performance and undeniable build quality, with the 997 Carrera S being no different. Packing a 3.8-litre flat-six engine, ~350 bhp delivered to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox, and all the luxury and comfort we’ve come to expect from Porsches over the years, the 997 Carrera S provides a brilliant, well-rounded, and invigorating experience for the driver.

This stunning example has been cared for over the past six years by enthusiast owner Adrian, it also comes with a clear (normal wear) bore score report and a current MOT valid until 08.10.2026.

This listing was written from information supplied by Paul after meeting Adrian the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

It took me nearly two years of searching to find my perfect 911.

Wanting to own a Porsche after deciding to sell his TVR, Adrian searched all over for a couple of years trying to find the exact specification and condition he wanted to own.

The search concluded six years ago when Adrian found this stunning 2005 Carrera 2S, which was low mileage, had excellent history, 'Arctic Silver' paint, black leather, Chrono Pack and a set of Lobster Claw wheels.

After six pleasurable years with the 911, Adrian has decided to take the next step into something a little newer with a Porsche 991, which is the reason for the sale.

Exterior

The iconic 911 silhouette never tires – it just gets better with age.

Wheels and Tyres

Porsche ‘Lobster Claw’ alloy wheels are fitted to this Gen 1 997. These are in superb condition and have been refurbished in a slightly darker colour than original, giving a nice contrast to the Arctic Silver exterior.

Fitted with Pirelli P-Zero tyres, with a spec of 235/35R19 at the front and 295/30R19 at the rear these all have a good amount of tread remaining.

Please take a look at the photos and videos for a detailed view of the Porsche 911 exterior and a closer look at the wheels and tyres to assess their condition.

image

Bodywork

The bodywork is in excellent condition, with visually equal panel gaps and no dings or dents disrupting those beautiful 911 lines.

We've highlighted our observations in more detail through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

image

Paint

Finished in 'Arctic Silver', the paintwork presents exceptionally well. You'll have to look hard to find a stone chip, and the car benefits from a full ceramic coating, including the wheels, which was a five-year package.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there yourself. So please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car to make up your own mind about the condition of the paint.

image

Glass and Trim

The windows appear in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches, and there are no real signs of age to the seals.

All of the lights around the car are free from damage.

image

Interior

Simple, functional, stylish and a modern feel compared to earlier 911 generations - the 997 is considered one of the all-time greats.

Seats and Carpets

The leather seats are in excellent condition with minimal signs of age to the bolsters.

Throughout the 911, the carpets are in like-new condition, having been protected with a set of factory floor mats.

Inside the boot, the warning triangle is in place, and behind a drop-down door is the factory CD multichanger.

image

Dashboard

Finished with a black leather dashboard, which has no damage, the Chrono Pack stopwatch sits centrally and is a desirable optional extra.

The instruments are working as you would expect, with no warning lights, and the odometer shows ~75,464 miles at the time of our visit.

image

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Fitted with the original leather steering wheel, this shows no signs of excessive wear and includes the Tiptronic buttons.

The gear selector is also in good order with minimal signs of age.

image

Mechanics

The 911's flat-six, increased to 3.8 litres for the 997 S - it can propel the car from 0 to 60 mph in ~5 seconds.

Engine and Gearbox

Producing approximately ~355 bhp, the 3.8-litre fires up without hesitation and sounds fantastic thanks to the upgraded Milltek exhaust system. The exhaust adds a slightly louder tone without being intrusive.

One key point to mention is that the car had a bore score check carried out in June 2025 and was given the all-clear, i.e. "Light, minor marking only to cylinder walls - normal wear for mileage with no significant scoring present". This can be seen in the paperwork section.

Fitted with the five-speed Tiptronic gearbox, the car pulls well through the gears, and the change is smooth. For a more spirited drive, there is the option of using the steering wheel buttons, or you can simply sit back and let the gearbox do the work for you – either way gives a great driving experience.

image

Suspension and Brakes

While in Adrian’s ownership, he has had the ageing suspension replaced with a set of BC Racing coilovers. These have height and damping adjustments, allowing for the perfect setup.

New discs and pads were fitted in February 2021, so they have plenty of life remaining. The car rides without knocks or bangs and comes to a stop in a straight line with no issues reported.

image

The Drive

Out in the S, it feels precise and engaging - the flat-six engine delivers strong, linear power, and the steering is sharp, giving you a clear sense of what the front tyres are doing.

The chassis feels balanced, offering confidence through corners while still being comfortable on longer drives.

It’s a car that rewards smooth inputs and makes every journey a fantastic experience.

image

Electrics and Other

Aside from the desirable Chrono Pack, the 911 comes with satellite navigation, CD multichanger, and air conditioning.

Adrian told us the switchgear is all working correctly, to his knowledge; we did notice a small amount of wear on the heater controls, which is quite common to see.

History and Paperwork

When buying a Porsche, history is key, and this 911 doesn’t disappoint.

With an excellent service history under its belt, the 911 has been meticulously well-maintained by Adrian and the former keepers. The service book shows 9 stamps from a mixture of main dealers and specialists, there are also several invoices showing various work carried out and parts purchased.

Please remember the one important selling point that every serious buyer wants to know in the comments: “Has it been bore score checked?” The answer is yes. As mentioned earlier, Lakeside Classics carried this out in June 2025.

A stunning, well-pampered 911 Carrera 2S with a superb options pack, excellent service history, and a clear bore score report.

We’ve carried out our usual seller checks, including verifying photo ID, the V5C, and an HPI check. This confirms the car has not been stolen, written off, or has any outstanding finance. Please note: this check does not include mileage verification. This flagged up a warning on the Plate Transfer, which was finance on a different car on an old plate that used to be on the car.

We’ve summarised the car based on the seller’s information above. As always, we go to great lengths to photograph and film the car in high-resolution detail so you can make your own informed assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So grab a cuppa, sit back, and enjoy reviewing everything in this listing.

Viewings are welcome for all our listings. Please get in touch to arrange a time – we just need to speak with you first and receive valid photo ID before confirming.

If you have any questions, no matter how small, please ask the seller in the comments section below before placing your bids, as bids cannot be retracted and form a binding contract if you win, just like in a traditional auction house.

Hi there, quick question on the bore scoring – did the technician suggest any corrective or protective action to limit or prevent further scoring of the cylinder walls and have you seen any signs of excessive oil usage or burning of oil during use? Was any internal inspections carried out prior to June 25? Thanks.
