Introduction
Darren Rungasamy
There's no doubting the 997's ability to put a smile on your face - and the 997 C2 doesn't disappoint.
The sixth generation of 911, which launched its legacy in 2004, offered a little more sophistication to the design compared to its predecessor, increasing the appeal of a new generation of water-cooled 911s. In addition to its unmistakable styling and strong engineering, Porsche's ergonomics department created an interior that was aesthetically pleasing and offered additional room for both passengers and luggage. Not only did the 911 continue to be one of the greatest rear-engine sports cars ever made, but very few vehicles could match its reputation and craftsmanship.
First registered in May 2006, this Carrera with the desirable six-speed manual gearbox is presented in the classic Arctic Silver finish and grey leather interior combo. Fitted with the durable 3.6-litre flat-six engine, it comes with a regular service schedule and evidence of careful ownership over the years. There is an upgraded media centre to enjoy, as well as recent attention to its suspension to make the most of that driving experience, it comes with a current MOT valid until May 2024.
We think this could be the best opportunity to grab a future classic for a rather modest outlay.

Hi good afternoon. Has the IMS bearing been replaced to your knowledge? Is there any invoice to show this? Thank you
Hi Mick, I have just spoken to my Porsche garage and they informed me that the 2006 was the changeover year for the IMS baring and it has the new larger baring so it should be OK.
Hello, would you be able to answer some questions about the car please?
1. Does it use much oil – has it used much oil since the last service?
2. The 22 June 2023 invoice mentions a ticking noise – did you find out what that was?
3. I assume it’s the £695 annual tax band – is that right?
4. How many keys do you have for he car?
5. Does the air conditioning work properly?
Thanks
Matt
Hi Matt,
1) I have never topped it up with oil myself between services.
2) The ticking noise was apparently nothing faulty.
3) £695 tax is correct.
4) One key plus a skeleton key.
5) The Aircon has always worked well for me.
