Introduction
Dom Ginn
A beautifully balanced Porsche with timeless appeal, the 987 brings unmistakable character in one hugely engaging package.
The Porsche Boxster (987) represents a particularly appealing chapter in Porsche’s mid-engined sports-car story, combining timeless styling, sharp handling and everyday usability.
Introduced in 2004, the 987 brought a more mature and sophisticated design while retaining the compact dimensions and perfectly balanced mid-engine layout that made the Boxster such a success.
With its distinctive Porsche styling, mid-engined balance and engaging driving character, the 987 continues to demonstrate why the Boxster has become such an important part of Porsche’s sports-car heritage.
This example comes to market from its original owner and is enhanced with its optional extras, including; a Metropole Blue fabric hood, partial leather interior with heated front seats, Boxster alloy wheels with colour-coded centre caps, rear parking assist and stainless-steel tailpipes.
Today, the 987 sits in a great position as a modern classic, retaining the qualities valued by many while offering enough refinement to remain an enjoyable and usable sports car. With the same owner from new, servicing completed fewer than ~1,000 miles ago and low mileage to boast, this is something a little special.
This listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Stewart the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi Stewart, I am interested in your Porsche Boxster and despite its low mileage I would appreciate clarification on a few of points.
Are there any oil leaks from the engine or gearbox ?
Has the IMS bearing been replaced in your ownership ?
Has the clutch been replaced in your ownership ?
Regards, Ken.
Hi Ken
There are no apparent oil leaks and this hasn’t been a problem in the past
The IMS bearing has not been replaced and Porsche Service have not made any recommendation to do so
Likewise the clutch has not been replaced and there are no symptoms of this being needed
Thanks and regards
Stewart
Many thanks Stewart.
Hi Stewart ignore my request for detailed work carried out during the services – just seen all your paperwork. Thank you!
Hi,
I’m very interested in the 2006 Porsche Boxster 987, registration EU06 GZP, currently being auctioned through Trade Classics.
Having reviewed the listing and the service history, the car’s one-owner provenance and very low mileage are particularly appealing. Before bidding, I wondered if you could help me clarify a couple of points regarding its maintenance history.
The listing shows eight service entries at approximately:
June 2008 – 7,490 miles
May 2010 – 11,772 miles
June 2012 – 15,832 miles
June 2014 – 17,920 miles
June 2016 – 21,267 miles
June 2018 – 22,558 miles
August 2020 – 24,164 miles
August 2024 – 25,802 miles
Could you please confirm which Porsche main dealers or independent Porsche specialists carried out each of these services?
I would also be grateful if you could clarify the four-year interval between the August 2020 and August 2024 services. Was any maintenance carried out during this period that is not recorded in the service book, or was the car simply used very sparingly during those years?
Could you also let me know what work was included in the August 2024 service, particularly whether any age-related items such as spark plugs, auxiliary drive belt and brake fluid were changed?
Finally, if there are invoices or other supporting documentation for the servicing and maintenance carried out during the current owner’s long ownership, I would be very interested to know how comprehensive that file is.
The car appears to have been exceptionally well preserved and I am looking for a 987 to keep long term, so establishing the continuity and provenance of the maintenance history is important to me.
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
John Murphy
Hi John
All servicing has been carried out by Porsche Centre, Colchester
The service gap from 2020 to 2024 was due to low mileage during this period. A new starter motor was fitted during Oct21 (Picture 27/36 in History and Paperwork)
I have the worksheet for the Aug24 service which shows
Spark plugs were replaced
Drive belt was checked but did not need to be replaced (it had been replaced at the Aug20 service)
This was a Major Maintenance and the work sheet details that brake fluid would be changed as part of this
as well as the engine oil and oil filter amongst other service items
The invoice for this service is picture 26
In addition to the paperwork included in History and Paperwork section I have worksheets for the services in 2020 and 2024 as well as emissions and braking checks for recent MOT’s
Regards
Stewart
Has it been checked for IMS/bore score?
Hello, there have not been any specific checks undertaken however when serviced it was collected by a driver from the dealership who would comment on any aspect of driving or symptom of a problem that may require attention, and no reference was ever made to these points.
