As with every Porsche 911, the 997 is an evolution of the preceding model, the most obvious element being the redesign of the front end, back to the more traditional 911 styling.

Not only does the Carrera 997 look the part but also performs on par with the world's best sports cars, especially in terms of acceleration and handling.

This example is coming out of Steve's ownership - he's had the car for two years and it's finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over a Sea Blue full leather interior, with great history - we know it'll attract a lot of attention.

Meet the owner

I've had the pleasure of owning my dream car, a 997 911 - I just wish I had more time to use it.

Steve has been the careful custodian of this 997.1 911 cabriolet for the past ~two years, and due to not using it as much as he once hoped to, has decided to part with the car - he's hoping a like-minded Porsche enthusiast will take over his ownership.

The car has been well looked after by main dealers and specialists throughout the years.

The 997.1 offers a classic round and lighter look - closer to the original 911.

Wheels and Tyres

Equipped with Carrera Classic 5-spoke 19" alloys, with each one finished in silver and appearing in very good condition all around with the slightest mark here and there - Porsche centre caps show the slightest signs of wear.

These wheels are wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero's and dated 2017, all-round and appear to have a good amount of tread - please take a look at the detailed photos and videos for a closer view of the alloys.

Bodywork

All panel gaps look correct and tight - please take a look through all the pictures and videos for a detailed view.

When getting very close to the rear bumper, we noticed a very slight scuff on the nearside arch.

Paint

Finished in a sophisticated 'Midnight Blue Metallic' this 911 really looks the part, when paired with the Sea Blue leather interior with the hood down. The paint looks even across all the panels. We do think it would benefit from a professional mop and polish to bring out the shine and reduce the swirl marks.

When getting really close to the paintwork we noticed some very minor stone chips to the front bumper.

The images taken are from various angles and reflections to show the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves and for you to make your own minds up on the condition.

Glass and Trim

The trim looks to be in great condition all around the car. Looking closely at the rubbers and glass lenses, these also look in good condition with no discolouration, cracks or damage that we could see.

The glass also looks good with no chips or major damage inline with the rest of the car.

We did notice some light creases and marks to the fabric roof on the nearside rear.

Interior

One extremely well-made cabin, able to survive your quickest lap time on the track, or daily use on the school run.

Seats and Carpets

Luxurious Sea Blue leather seats are fitted in this example with matching carpets and door cards. All present in very good condition and in line with the age and mileage of the car.

Due to the low mileage, only the slightest sign of creasing appears on the driver's seat.

We did notice a few scuffs on the plastic sill plates - visual appearance could be improved with a detail.

Dashboard

The dashboard has stood the test of time very well with high-quality leather hide used throughout.

The centre console and dials, gauges, appear inline with a well-looked after low mileage Porsche.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Fitted with your classic 3-spoke leather wrapped multi-function steering wheel and 6-speed manual gear stick, which appear in great condition - please take a look through the extensive photos and videos to see the detail up close.

Mechanics

Lighter, smaller, set lower into the chassis, and an increase of power to 20bhp over the older unit, the 3.6L powerplant produces 341bhp.

Engine and Gearbox

The car starts from cold with no issues and drives well with its smooth manual gearbox powering the rear wheels.

Maintenance on the brakes and suspension has been carried out in line with the schedule, ensuring that everything works as expected.

The Drive

The car offers everything you'd want in a high-performance car, swift acceleration, great handling and of course the looks.

Steve has really enjoyed using the car occasionally on the weekends and reports a comfortable yet thrilling experience.

Electrics and Other

The Carrera comes very well equipped as standard with Porsche PCM unit and Bose speakers.

History and Paperwork

An iconic sports car, which is bound to appreciate with the rising market - a lovely example with a book full of OPC stamps.

Steve has been the proud owner of this lovely 997.1 Midnight Blue example for the past ~two years, with the last main dealer service carried out last July, ~550 miles ago. All other service stamps bar the second were with an Official Porsche Centre (OPC) - it's a car that is ready for a new owner to enjoy this summer. There's just one service stamp missing for 2017, however, from the MOT history you can see that very few miles were completed during that time.

The personal plate as shown in the images is not included in the sale - an age related dated plate (58) will be put back on the car.

Hi Mark, no I have not done this although was advised when I bought it that this should be very unlikely on such a late car particularly with such low mileage

Buyers have a lot of choice in the market right now, however, this car stands out in a sea of higher mileage examples.

We’re sure you have a good idea of the value of this vehicle by studying our thorough listing, however, you may be interested to see a selection of current sales of the same and / or similar models.

Our car here could be a better financial purchase than these currently live classified sales - the mileage is circa half, it's a much newer Gen 1 car and being manual is more desirable with more potential buyers.
