Porsche styling and looks are instantly recognisable with the Cayman combining all of that plus giving the driver great road balance with its mid mounted engine.

Sporty and practical with its two luggage sections, the Cayman takes its heritage from previous incarnations of the Boxster with both cars sharing similar features. Of course, one of the main differences between the two models is the fixed roof on the Cayman which gives the benefit of stiffening up the chassis of the car.

This model comes to market with just over ~40k on the clock at time of visit, with its 7-speed double clutch PDK gearbox, Cayman S 18" alloys, sat nav package, great performance and storage options, the Cayman has a huge amount to offer its future owner.

With a wealth of owner benefits including regular specialist servicing and the benefit of a 7-speed double clutch PDK gearbox, this Cayman is a real drivers' car.

Sadly this Cayman comes to market as part of a bereavement sale - Arthur, the car's owner sadly passed away and the sale is now being managed by his wife.

The car has been serviced for most of its live by renowned Porsche specialist, Martin Brown, and was actually originally sourced by Martin, for Arthur, from Bristol Porsche, Martin is kindly supporting the family in the sale of the car having known them for many years - it's currently stored at his facility in Coventry.

Sweeping lines, fantastic handling and great performance, the Cayman wraps up everything Porsche is famed for in a beautiful way.

Wheels and Tyres

Michelin Pilot Sports sit on all four corners of the car, the date coding was noted as showing from 2013 on all but three corners, with a 2019 on the nearside rear. The tyres may be a little old but on initial inspection we didn't note any cracking or major signs of wear with a respectable amount of tread still on.

The 18" Cayman S wheels look in great condition across the car - there were some signs of paint flaking on the offside front wheel but nothing that caused a major concern. It was great to see the centre caps also showing in a great way.

Bodywork

The Porsche sits really nicely on the road - panels look straight and shut lines match up well across the panelling. We observed no cause for concern on our visit noting that the underside of the car along with inside the wheel arches also looked to be in a good condition.

Paint

The Artic Silver paint finish shows nicely across the vehicle and we noted that the paint protector vinyl was still in place on the rear quarter panelling. If we were being particularly picky, we did notice some slight signs of stone chipping across the front bumper area where naturally the car would pick up minor issues, also, slight stone marking on the side vent area but nothing that presented a serious concern.

We've taken high resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves. Glass and Trim

Glass sections showed well across the car with no noted blemishes or major scratches. Looking over the headlight sections the finish looked clear, often these sections tend to yellow with age but on this Cayman the headlights showed really well.

Seals and trim around the Porsche looked clean and didn't seem to show signs of fading or visible marking.

Interior

More than just a sporty car for the weekend, the Cayman adds extra storage boot room front and back as well as a smart and considered cabin area.

Seats and Carpets

Comfortable leather seats greet the driver when entering the cabin area, with no major signs of wear and tear the seats showed nicely and were supportive when out on the road. There were some signs of usage on the bolster section of the driver's side seat which naturally occurs through use and entering and exiting the vehicle.

Looking over the carpet section, a good clean would bring these back up to their former glory, with no concern of damage noted to the carpet area giving them a refresh would improve the aesthetics of the cabin floor. No signs of dampness were noted on the floor sections.

Dashboard

Control functions for stereo, air con and sat nav functions are available to the driver and appear to be in good shape with no major wear noted. The glovebox section opens as it should with a working CD holder also integrated into the section. The dials and clock functions look to be in a great condition and had no signs of fogging or issues with display.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A great condition steering wheel is set in place for the driver, showing a little sign of wear on the leather at the top of the wheel but otherwise we had no concerns. Stitching was all in place across the wheel with no signs of loose sections or materials cracking. The Porsche badge emblem sits proudly centre placed on the wheel and displays nicely.

Likewise, the gear knob showed in equally respectable condition showing no major signs of wear to it. There was a slight scuff on the gear surround but only really showed as a minor blemish.

Mechanics

With its 2.9L engine, great road handling and 7 speed double clutch PDK gearbox, this car offers a fantastic driving experience.

Engine and Gearbox

The engine showed no issues when starting up, no excess smoke and no warning lights that stayed on the dash once started up. Please note, one warning light was present on on road test, this was the fuel warning gauge as we hadn't yet fully filled the car up on our journey out.

Manual mode on the gearbox worked with no issues and went through the gear changes showing no concerns. We took the car up to the speed limit with the Cayman responding well to the road and the driver well.

Suspension and Brakes

Whilst out on our road we took the car onto some local roads; we noted no knocks, or unwanted noises from the suspension and the braking showed no sign of pulling or strain.

The Drive

Precise steering and responsive on the road and drives really nicely when out. The acceleration is smooth and stopping as to be as to be expected from a car of this calibre.

The naturally aspirated engine pulls well in any gear, offering up the entire rev range without any lag or delay. When taking corners the car feels stable and stiff thanks to its rigid body and revised suspension.

Electrics and Other

Whilst out on the road we tested out the sat nav functions and found no issues with its usage. Starting the car up from cold showed no warning lights on the dash and the car dials responded well to this also. We were able to test the radio / stereo system, stalks and climate control also which where all working as they should.

Having been serviced by a Porsche specialist for most of its life, the Cayman has been well looked after.

This Porsche Cayman comes to market with ~40,127 on the clock at time of visit. I asked this question with someone at Trade Classics so to confirm , if I am lucky enough to win the car I will not be able to collect it for over a week as I go out to France tomorrow ,coming back on the first.
