The 991 is the seventh generation of the Porsche 911, which was first unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was an entirely new platform, and only the third since the original 911 launched. When comparing the car to the predecessor, the 991 has a slightly larger wheelbase, a new transaxle which improved the weight distribution, using composite and high strength aluminum and steel panels the engineers managed to shave 1.3kg off.

This low mileage 991 is an example not to miss, due to it being highly original and coming with Porsche warranty until February 2022. It's rear wheel drive format pushing out 345BHP with lightening quick PDK gearbox make for a very engaging drive.

Meet the owner

A cracking car, with so much power, the practicality and speed of the PDK were a must for me.

Glenn purchased the car last January from Porsche East London. He'd been on the lookout for a 991, his first impressions on this car and the history it came with put it head and shoulders above the 5 or 6 he had seen previously. That coupled with the fact the car came with 2 years Porsche approved warranty from the OPC made it an easy choice.

The car has been meticulously maintained over its short life so far, having 4 main dealer stamps all at Porsche Centre East London. The car had just 1 previous lady owner, and over the past year and half Glenn has only put ~3,000 miles on the car. He will be more than happy to answer any of your questions in the comments below.

Exterior

The unmistakeable 911 silhouette, it still has that classic bloodline through it, with smart modernisations.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with the factory 19" Carrera wheels, the thin spoke design giving clear visibility to the drilled brake discs is quite an iconic sight.

The wheels and tyres present in excellent condition, the only thing to note as pictured is some minor marks to the centre caps that's typical on these.

Bodywork

In coupe form, the 991 Carrera is a beautiful timeless design. This example has tight shut-lines and panel gaps across the vehicle, and no dents were observed during the photography visit.

Paint

Finished in Platinum Silver Metallic (Code M7T), a very modern and up to date colour. It suits this coupe, and in line with the mileage is in excellent condition.

The only point to note is a small stone-chip on the front of the car, you'll struggle to spot it but we've pointed it out in the photos as it's the only blemish we observed.

Glass and Trim

The glass looks in excellent condition across the car, along with the trim.

All the window rubbers and seals appear tight with no signs of wear or degrading.

Interior

An evolution in the cabin too, more comfortable than ever before, and similarly smartened with modernisation.

Seats and Carpets

Finished in Graphite Grey (Code CZ) through the interior, the electric adjustable leather seats present in excellent condition.

Just 2 careful owners from new, the seats show no signs of wear and the carpets are clean. The Porsche crested headrests were optioned from new.

Dashboard

Black backed dials on this example, a mix again of classic and modern; the classic dial arrangement with the rev counter front and centre, modernisation in the shape of a digital display that can show a plethora of information including navigation.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A simple and smart affair, Graphite Grey leather wrapped steering wheel and PDK control. The centre console again presents in excellent condition as with the rest of the cabin.

Mechanics

The classic 911 set-up; rear engined, rear wheel drive flat six.

Engine and Gearbox

Powered by the 3.4L flat six from Porsche, the 911 Carrera is capable of pushing out 345BHP to the rear wheels. Driven by the double-clutch PDK gearbox, it offers lightening fast gear-changes and the practicality of automatic operation for use in traffic.

The car comes with Porsche warranty that runs until February 2022, this as a result of the full OPC service history the car comes with.

Suspension and Brakes

Maintenance on this example has been carried out by the OPC in East London, brakes serviced in line with the schedule ensuring that everything works as expected.

The Drive

That flat six howl is what these cars are all about. With the PDK gearbox, the automatic option for a 911 became an entirely different proposition compared to the Tiptronic boxes of the past, it's arguably the more performance focused option.

Electrics and Other

Fitted with Porsche's PCM 3 and with start/stop technology build in too, Glenn reports that everything is working on the car as it should do.

History and Paperwork

A UK RHD, low ownership and low mileage example of a Porsche 991, presented in excellent condition.

This examples owners have clearly taken good care of the car, it comes with main dealer service stamps, all of which have been at Porsche Centre East London, 4x brake fluid changes and 4x Long-life guarantee condition report.

When Glenn purchased the car through Porsche East London approved used, it was put through an extensive 111-point check and sold with 2 years approved warranty which is valid until the end of January 2022. Hi Graham, the warranty is as I understand treansferrable as it comes with the car not with the person, but please feel free to check with Porsche uk. I have not used the car that much with only putting 3,000 miles on it since I purchased it from the dealership in January 2020. We have 2 other cars and my circumstances have changed so do not get the time to really enjoy any of them, so it often sits unused for lengthy periods. It was given the higher lever service ony late last summer and also had brand new tyres… Read more »

Hi Graham, with respect all I would say on that is that the car is extremely well priced initially I was advised by Trade Classics to go in at 54,000 – 56,000. I have a price from we buy any car and they are offering a tad under 50k. And we all know how appalling low their offers are.
