After 20 years with his previous 964, the time was right for Tim to part ways with his old Porsche. Tim sold his 964 through Trade Classics to free up funding to buy this 991.

Tim had always had his heart set on a 991 for his next car, and chose the 911 Carrera S for the sheer driving enjoyment, Tim says, "This one was a great step up technically from my previous Porsche: it does everything I need and so much more".

There's a great deal that Tim loves about this car, but his favourite part of this Carrera experience is clear: "The PDK gearbox is an amazing piece of engineering, and combined with the paddle shift, sport mode, and overall handling, the car is incredibly responsive".

Tim tells us more about the car, saying, "The engine revs beautifully yet it's effortless on long journeys. It's precise out on the road, and gives you confidence with its handling that inspires total trust. For me, the colour, wheels and brake combination make it a stand out looker in any location".

The car comes to market reluctantly as Tim is still a big fan of it, but, with a new car on the horizon the time has come to let the 991 go to a new home.

EXTERIOR VIDEO

Exterior

The 991 sharpens the iconic 911 form - wider, lower, bolder - resulting in striking road presence.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with 20” wheels, which show in good condition. There were a few signs of kerbing but nothing major.

The wheels are wrapped with a matching set of Michelin Pilot Sport tyres all round. Front tyres show a spec of 245/35, and rears 295/30. Both sets of tyres show show date codes from 2022.

Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels, and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old.

Bodywork

The car stands level, shut lines look good, and we could see no visible distortion to the panels. Both doors, boot, and bonnet open and close well, exactly as you would expect from Porsche build quality.

We found no major areas of concern when looking over the car, although there was a small parking ding on the drivers side door.

There is some minor scuffing to the underside due to the low ride height, but overall, nothing overly concerning - and an area that is away from general view.

Paint

The 'Basalt Black Metallic' (Colour code C9Z) paint shows a good lustre and even colour match throughout. If we were being picky, there were a few marks on the front of the car and on the drivers side rear arch.

There were some signs of swirling to the finish on the passenger side rear quarter and a minor scuff behind the wheel here. These areas however, didn't detract too much from the lovely presentation of the 911.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these hi-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

Overall the glass and trim on the Porsche showed with no major cause for concern. The windscreen, side windows, and rear window all show really well, with no significant scratching or marks.

The seals look good around the outside and in line with the rest of the condition of the car. The headlining of the cabin looked excellent. Badges and emblems are present and correct.

Front and rear lights all appear in very good condition, and we could see no sign of scratching to the finish here; just some minor haze to the glass at the front that typically comes with age.

Interior

Sport meets luxury in a perfectly focused cockpit - raised centre console, iconic five dials, and the unmistakable precision you expect from a 911.

Seats and Carpets

Both front seats are finished in black leather. Overall, these show in great condition, although there were signs of minor creasing to the leather - mainly on the bolster sections of the front seats. We noted some scratching to the back of the seats, but as these were out of sight, it wasn't a major worry.

The compact rear section shows very little sign of use, showing well with just a few age related marks.

Porsche-branded carpets showed in great condition through the interior. Equally the front boot raised no concerns.

Dashboard

The leather covered dashboard looks to be free from any splits and cracks and showed well on our visit. The clocks and dials presented nicely, with ~84,600 miles shown at the time of our visit.

The display are all functional, showing clearly with no obvious scratching to the facings.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A classic Porsche 3-spoke steering wheel, finished in matching black leather with aluminium accents, looks fantastic. Importantly, the paddles for the transmission sit just behind the wheel. This is in great condition and has maintained its looks as well as the rest of the interior.

The automatic gear selector also shows the same levels of quality. Both sections are straight forward in design and present smartly with only minor levels of wear noted.

Mechanics

The Carrera S packs a 3.8L flat-six with ~400 BHP, delivering thrilling power, sharp response, and the unmistakable 911 soundtrack.

Engine and Gearbox

Starting up from cold, we noted no concerns at all. The car quickly settled into a smooth idle.

The PDK transmission changes smoothly with no issues, and pulls strongly through the range. We took the car out around some local roads with the owner to get a better feel for what this vehicle is all about.

On the drive, we ran through the motions and got an overview from Tim's perspective on how the car performs. It's easily capable of taking the driver up to speed when warm!

Take a look over the video for yourselves to hear the Porsche start up from cold and take in the lovely sounds of the engine. Please note the consigner erroneously refers to the car as a 4S in this video: we can confirm it is a Carrera 2S.

Suspension and Brakes

We noted no knocks, bangs or other issues from the suspension when we were on the road in the car, and it gave us no concerns about its performance or handling.

With drilled discs all around, stopping power felt great, bringing the car easily to a stop with no pull or vibrations that stood out to us. Overall the car performed as to be expected with no observed issues.

The Drive

The 991 offers incredible levels of performance with enough power for any situation, combined with everyday usability. It's just as capable on a winding back road as it is on a jaunt across continents.

Tim tells us more about his experience with the Carrera: "What sets this car apart is its performance, It's so balanced, responsive, and utterly controlled - just pure Porsche and an absolute delight on the open road. Most of the miles I've driven in it have been to get out of London and into the countryside. The way it drives and handles always leaves me wanting a bit more".

Electrics and Other

During our time with the car we noticed no concerning issues. All dashboard lights turned off when out on the road as expected, and all dials and gauges were fully functioning.

The car is equipped with heated front seats, sat nav, dashboard clock and Bose sound system.

We weren't able to test every area of the car on our visit, but Tim tells us he's had no concerns through his ownership.

History and Paperwork

With major servicing completed in January 2026, 7 Porsche service stamps, and its PDK gearbox, this 911 is set up ready for its new owner to enjoy out of the box.

Tim, the current owner, purchased the Porsche from a dealership. Having a great knowledge of Porsche due to his previous 964, this 991 was a natural choice. The dealership Tim purchased this Porsche from has sold the car twice now, and it’s been serviced there throughout. They therefore have a great understanding of its history.

During Tim's ownership of the Carrera he has kept the maintenance going, having recently completed a major service in January 2026. This covered off an oil change, filters, spark plugs, brake fluid change, and replacement ignition coils. Ideal servicing intervals are every 2 years, which means the next major service shouldn't be required for another ~4 years.

With limited works required on the car, the only requirement needed on the Porsche was to replace the LED light on the elevated brake strip. Tim mentions, "In my ownership, there's nothing major that I've needed to have done. It's been a fantastic car for me".

Other minor works have included new brake bushings and shaft in February 2025, new screen wash pipe in August 2024, brake pedal sensor module in May 2024 and a replacement stereo amplifier and rear brake pads in January 2023. A new battery, brake fluid change, and a full set of tyres was actioned in 2022. In 2021, a replacement fuel pump was fitted.

The Porsche is complete with 2 sets of keys, service booklets, manuals, and its Porsche owners folio.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.
