Introduction

This car is being sold with no reserve, so someone will get a great car at a great price.
I'll probably lose a bundle on it, but it’s just not being used.
It's had a Hartech Engine Rebuild at ~94,000 miles on the clock.
It comes with the factory removable Hardtop and wind deflector.

I purchased the car earlier this year (May) as a bit of an impulse buy. I’m not really using it, as I have a daily driver (my son has driven it more).
I now have the chance to purchase a classic I’ve been after for a while, hence the sell.
If you’re in the market for a sorted 996, then look no further - the car benefits from a Hartech engine rebuild and some front suspension work (front dampers and springs) totalling almost 19k, only ~7k miles ago.
This is not a garage Queen, but is a well documented driver.
It hasn’t had a service since the Hartech work, so this would probably be something the new owner would like to do.
The car is in good all round condition for its age and mileage, with no dents or excessive scratches.

Market Auction

Kenneth, the seller, has created this listing themselves using our free Market Auction tool. Unlike our Curated Auctions, we haven’t photographed the car or written the listing, however we have completed 3 important security checks for your peace of mind.

V5C Checked

Kenneth provided a copy of the V5C logbook, which we verified against his photo ID for name and address confirmation.

ID Checked

Kenneth provided his photo ID, which we verified against the name and address on the V5C logbook.

Exterior

Classic 911 silhouette, with both a good condition soft top and the optional factory hardtop included.

Wheels and Tyres

The 5 spoke alloy wheels are in reasonable condition, with Pirelli P-Zero tyres all round. A good amount of tread remains on all 4.

Bodywork

Good general condition all round, but this is 23 years old now, so please don’t expect perfection.

There’s a small area of corrosion about the size of 2 penny coins on the passenger rear wheel arch - please see the detailed photograph in the gallery.

All panel gaps are even and true.

Paint

The paint appears even in colour.

I believe the nose may have been blown over at some time, but there's no documented evidence.

Glass and Trim

The headlights remain nice and clear, and all glass is clear with no chips or scratches.

The trim is in good condition with wear levels being appropriate for a >100k, 23 year old car.

Interior

Full black leather interior, with seats that are are comfortable and firm.

Seats and Carpets

In good condition with no excessive rips or tears.

Dashboard

Classic 911 layout!

The information system is dated, but upgrades are available at a reasonable cost.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Leather steering wheel with the integrated "manual" gear change controls.

The car has the speed limiter/cruise control options.

Mechanics

With a Hartech rebuild on the books there are no worries concerning the dreaded bore score these are known for!

Engine and Gearbox

Starts and drives with no known faults.

Gear change are smooth and precise in both full automatic and manual modes.

Suspension and Brakes

Front dampers and springs were changed in 2023 at the time of the Hartech work, and there's been additional brake line work in March of this year - see photo.

The Drive

Drives fantastically as you would expect from a 911. The brakes are good and it stops with no pulling to either side.

Electrics and Other

As previously stated, the info system/stereo could probably do with an upgrade.

The ignition key seems to have a spring issue, and needs to be turned back ever so slightly once started.

2 keys are present, though 1 requires a new battery.

The central locking/windows/mirrors/roof all work fine.

History and Paperwork

Very good service history, with book pack manual/service book and additional receipts.

Last major service was in July 23, but only ~7k miles have been covered since.

Factory Hardtop and wind deflector included.

From Trade Classics:
This is a Market Auction listing, meaning we have not visited and photographed the car - instead the seller has supplied the images and written the description. However we’ve done all our usual seller checks, including photo ID that matches the V5, and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPi that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

Viewings are welcomed, so please get in touch with us via the 'contact us' page - we just need to speak to you first on the phone, have you register on the site, and also send in valid photo ID before confirming a suitable time to visit.

Like all our auctions, if there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bids, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - the Buyer's Premium is not refundable in any instance, just like a traditional auction house.

    Key Bidding Facts

    What is your reserve policy?

A reserve is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for their vehicle. We work closely with sellers to set realistic reserves that reflect current market values — we don’t take on vehicles with inflated or unrealistic expectations.

If the reserve isn’t met when the auction ends, we’ll work with the highest bidder to try and agree a deal with the seller.

Whether the reserve has been met may / may not be disclosed during the auction — just like a traditional auction house. Bidders usually find out if they’ve won only when the auction ends.

    As a guide:
    – If you’re able to place a second bid, the reserve hasn’t been met.
    – If you attempt to outbid yourself and the system blocks it, then the reserve has been met.

Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes. To guarantee your bid, we recommend at least five minutes are active on the auction when you place your bid.

Network Connection – your device may lose connection and you’re not able to bid, or see the latest bidding history.
