Introduction

Glyn Parry
Professional Consigner

Continuous improvement of an already perfect sports car, introducing the 991 model - half a century of technical evolution and refinement.

The 991 was an instant hit when it first appeared in 2011, with its sleeker rear lights, wider nose and a 15 bhp gain from its well respected predecessor. The 'S' variant continued with the 3.8L flat-six and could be connected to the awesome 7-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox that takes the car to 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds - impressive.

The development team at Porsche also redesigned the body and the extensive use of aluminium means the car is 45kg lighter than the older 997 model.

This Carrera S features bi-xenon lights, 20" wheels, adaptive dampers and the torque vectoring system - which selectively brakes the inside rear wheel with a limited-slip differential.

This particular car is in truly stunning condition and looks purposeful with a black-on-black colour combination together with the 20" wheels - it's a timeless legend.

This auction listing was written from information supplied by Glyn after meeting Adam the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

The most fun I've ever had in any car - this 911 is sure to put a smile on your face.

Adam's is a big car guy, and after trading in his AMG-Line E Class for this Porsche 911 he didn't regret it - he's had a lot of fun being the owner of this iconic sports car. However, it's time to move on and he's now looking for a new owner to enjoy the car as much as he has.

There is a good amount of paperwork which can be seen in the images. The car features a very clean MOT history as well, showing just how well this example has been kept over its short life so far.

Adam would be more than happy to answer any of your questions on this car below.

Exterior

This is the seventh evolutionary stage of arguably one of the most distinctive and timeless looking cars on the road - now featuring refined headlights, longer nose and larger wheels.

Wheels and Tyres

Look at these unmissable 20" wheels, not only do they look great, they also give you that precise turning ability giving you confidence in every situation.

Pirelli P-Zero's wrap these 20" wheels - all the tyres have lots of life left in them, with the rear rubber being replaced only last year.

The wheels are in excellent, non-curbed condition, please take a look at the photos and videos to see for yourself.

Bodywork

Exactly what you would expect from a lovely example, that has been well kept over the years - the bodywork is in excellent condition.

All panel gaps look correct and tight. Please take a look through all the pictures and videos for the detailed view.

Paint

Really nice choice of colour for the 911, a deep glossy black. The paint is in excellent condition, very deep in finish and colour and even across all the panels.

When inspecting the car up close, we did notice some very light stone chips to the front bumper and if we're being really picky, some minor scratches under it too - however, you have to get under the car to see them!

Please watch the detailed video to see the whole exterior in great detail.

Glass and Trim

The trim and all look to be in great condition around the car.

Looking closely at the rubbers and glass lenses also look in near perfect condition with no degradation.

The glass looks good with no chips or damage inline with the rest of the car.

Interior

An extra 100mm between the front and rear axels mean oodles of space. No more complaints about headroom either, with fully adjustable leather sports seats.

Seats and Carpets

Black leather seats fitted in this stunning example with matching carpets and door cards. All are in excellent condition.

The original Porsche carpets have a deep pile for that luxurious feel.

We did notice some minor wear to the driver seat bolsters when you get in to the car - this is usual and looks to be in line with the usage of the car over time.

Please look at the images and videos for a more detailed view.

Dashboard

Clean and clear dials with a focus on driving. Just like in every 911 before it, the dashboard gives you all the information you'd need in every driving situation.

Our personal favourite additions on the dashboard is the analogue clock, allowing you to record your lap times, this is also linked to your PCM (nav system).

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

This example features Porsche's PDK sports steering wheel and automatic gear stick - this layout puts you complete control of the 3.8L engine behind you.

This steering wheel and gearstick are in excellent condition. Take a look through the extensive photos and videos to see the detail up close.

Mechanics

A 3,800cc rear-mounted engine working simultaneously with that acclaimed 7-speed PDK gearbox will give you goosebumps every time you press your right foot down.

Engine and Gearbox

As mentioned, the 911 features a monster of an engine - 3.8L 24v flat-six mated to a 7-speed auto PDK gearbox which outputs 395bhp at 7400rpm.

The car started from cold with no issues and sounded perfect.

Please take a look at the video that shows Adam starting the car. A tour of the engine bay and views from underneath the 911 is also included.

Suspension and Brakes

The Carrera S comes fitted with adaptive suspension, so it doesn't matter if you're beating your previous lap time around the Nurburgring, or you're on the daily commute, this car has you covered.

We are assured by Adam, no knocks or rattles - what you'd expect given the age and service history.

The Drive

A car that just wants to be driven. We love a 911 at Trade Classics, especially a fast one.

Due to Covid restrictions, we couldn't take a passenger ride in the car, however, Adam assures us the car drives beautifully and fault-free.

Electrics and Other

The Carrera S comes very well equipped as standard - climate control, bi-xenon lights, sat-nav, MP3, USB connectivity, adaptive dampers, TVS etc.

Adam has also gone the extra mile and had an iPlay system installed. Upgrading the outdated centre sat-nav to a modern 2020 standard. Connect your iPhone / Andriod phone and get full control on a large touch screen display, very neat indeed.

History and Paperwork

This is a very well looked after 911 that is also one of the best variants to own and in the perfect colour - so if your serious about getting a 991 S that's priced to sell, then this is it.

A small wad of paperwork comes with the car. Adam assures us that he has made sure to have the car serviced and well maintained over its life.

Please take a look through the images to see all the original paperwork which comes with the car.

Checks carried out by us:
- Photo ID of seller.
- V5 checked against seller's photo ID.
- HPi checked and clear.

Hi,
Have any of the issues highlighted on the PorschTech report been fixed?
Also, could you confirm that the warranty is transferable and will pass to the new owner.

Thanks
