Introduction
Jacob Boodrie
A remarkable V12 luxury saloon celebrating Rolls-Royce heritage, craftsmanship, and effortless refinement.
Introduced in 2009, the Rolls-Royce Ghost was created to offer a more driver-focused alternative within the Rolls-Royce range, sitting below the Phantom while retaining the marque’s legendary standards of luxury and craftsmanship. Built on BMW Group engineering foundations but transformed through Rolls-Royce’s bespoke approach, the Ghost combined effortless performance, exceptional comfort, and handcrafted attention to detail into a modern luxury saloon. Powered by a 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V12, it quickly became one of the most successful models in the company’s modern history.
The Ghost Alpine Trial Centenary Collection was created in 2014 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Rolls-Royce’s remarkable success in the 1913 Austrian Alpine Trial. The original event tested endurance, reliability, and engineering excellence across some of Europe’s most challenging mountain roads, with Rolls-Royce proving the capability of its cars by achieving outstanding results. This limited-edition collection pays tribute to that achievement through unique styling details, bespoke finishes, and exclusive touches inspired by the original Alpine Trial cars, making it one of the most collectible modern Ghost variants.
This example features a Silver bonnet finish, designed to replicate the contrasting bonnet of the historic competition car, along with bespoke coachline detailing inspired by the original Alpine Trial route. Inside, the cabin features a bespoke walnut dashboard inlay showcasing a detailed map of the original Alpine Trial route, alongside a special Alpine Trial clock referencing the timings of the historic rally stages.
This Ghost comes to auction following approximately one year of ownership with its current custodian.
No doubt about it, this is a rare car as only 35 examples produced worldwide, and assuming the majority of those cars would have been exported to the Far East or the USA, then the number actually left in the UK could probably be counted on one had - this represents a rare opportunity to acquire a highly desirable and historically significant Ghost.
This listing was written from information supplied by Jacob after meeting Philip the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi Phillip Do you know why there is a big gap in the service history between 2017 and 2023 ?
Sorry, I can’t explain why there is a gap as it was before I purchased the car. All I can say is that I had the car thoroughly examined prior to my purchase and they appear to be no issues whatsoever. Likewise, I had the car serviced and MOT only a few days before it went up for Auction. Again there were no issues. Just as a point of interest when the MOT tester was doing the brakes on their rolling Road the number that came up for the left and right side was identical. He said in the 34 years he’d been doing the job that’s the first time it’s ever happened.
Hi Phillip Have you had an estimate for the dent on the radiator surround and the small scuffs to the paintwork? Thanks Dave
Under normal circumstances, the dent is so inconspicuous as are the tiny bits of paint chip that it really wasn’t worth getting either of them done.
