Introduction
Darren Rungasamy
The Impreza WRX STi is a capable, practical and entertaining performance car with a legendary motorsport pedigree.
Highly regarded by enthusiasts for its rallying pedigree and driving experience, the Subaru Impreza WRX STi first burst into the scene in January 1994 as a homologation model under FIA regulations. Representing the highest spec of the 2nd generation Impreza models, the WRX STi Type UK models are considered by many to be the most desirable version.
Stiffer than the original release, the GDB-F version was also fitted with the more robust 6-speed gearbox, revised suspension, wider wheels and received plusher interior refinements, all of which helped retain the Impreza's raw essence. For two years (2004 and 2005), the WRX STi took the top 3 podiums in Group N World Rally Championship, while it made its mark in autocross, drifting, and road racing, cementing its status as one of the greatest competition cars of all time.
Still powered by the legendary EJ207 2.0-litre boxer engines, now with Variable Valve Timing, this 2005 WRX STi Type UK comes to market after almost ~3 and a half years with our vendor, it is finished in black with a black/blue interior.
The Impreza has seen a host of professionally installed modifications with dyno printouts to indicate a noticeable hike in power. It comes with a folder of invoices since it was new, including the original bill of sale and a total of ~£38K’s worth of spending, including ~£10K in the last 3 years. It has had a new clutch and has not covered many miles since its last service.
Coming with its owner's wallet, 2 keys and has an MOT to September 2026, this is one opportunity not to be missed.

***RESERVE REMOVED*** John has decided to remove the reserve so it will be sold to the high bidder this evening. Good luck. Adam TC
We bought this car as an investment 4 years ago from a reputable garage and it has hardly been driven it has been parked up and I have done various bits to it to improve the car over time I am not a suburu specialist
It has all been done by professionals who deal with high performance cars
The car has been looked after to its full potential and we have supplied all the paperwork we have, I completely understand what you might be assuming but I can assure you the engine is not near the end of its life and has had all work actioned on it over time as detailed.
Feels very harsh to say the engine is at the end of its life
I would believe your engine is at the end of its lifeline due to the mileage in circa of 70k and would need a bottom end rebuild considering the history of the car.
You will see any STI running these types of performance upgrades will have bottom end rebuilds every 30-40k miles
Throughout the timeline of history the turbos have been replaced extremely frequently which shows the car has been driven extremely hard/abused which is expected with the mapping/setup.
This leads me to my next question. Why haven’t the bottom end bearings been done? ACL race bearings is a common upgrade as preventative maintenance as they are known to spin.
Hi John,
I have a series of questions after reviewing the history of the vehicle.
Since 2016 it’s had work carried out by RCM including a rebuild turbo upgrade and mapping.
Then in 2021 it’s had work carried out by TEG sport with a replacement RCM400 turbo but the car has been remapped again producing less power 430+ bhp in 2016. 410+ bhp in 2021.
It sounds different when the switch is flipped as it’s runs straight though and this may be what you were hearing on the video
Many thanks
I can confirm this car is absolutely perfect. No vices at all not sure why it sounded lumpy on the video but I can confirm this is not the case at all
In the mehcanical video the car sounds quite lumpy on start up outside of how boxer engines usually sound. Can I confirm from the owner the car is running well, boosting through all gears and both stable on cold and warm?
