Recent Buyer Review – Simon Welsh on 1st May “Found my ideal 90’s sports car on Trade Classics. Living in Bournemouth and the car being in the Midlands I relied heavily on the advert, photos and videos.

On picking the car up I wasn’t disappointed. Everything was as it had been described. So I got straight into it and drove home. What a drive put a smile on my face.

Thanks very much Trade Classics and I’m now looking out for my next classic to add to the collection.”.

Phil is very passionate about cars – particularly Cosworths. Currently he is building a collection of them that will reflect the heritage of such a renowned automotive engineering company.

Please watch out ‘Meet the Owner’ video where Phil tells us more about this limited edition masterpiece. He is looking to sell as he would like to rebalance his collection and needs more Fords. Here at Trade Classics we are really excited to see this example come through to us as we believe it will be deemed as a ‘Classic’ in the future.

Phil has owned this for just over a year now and has taken great care by maintaining its originality and cleanliness. Please read the rest of the listing and watch all of the videos and photos we have taken upon visiting this rarity.

With a dark grey paint finish and sublime body kit, this example means business. Cosworth decal lets you know furthermore the superiority of this machine. Colour matching alloys are always a nice touch too. We are really impressed with the overall condition and would be marked at an excellent standard.

Wheels & Tyres
The car is fitted with a full set of 245/40/18 Cooper Zeon CS-Sport tyres with excellent tread. The alloys also look in excellent condition.

We are loving the body kit on this rare example – a real step up from a normal Impreza you’d see on the road – hot-hatch for sure. We saw no irregularities on the bodywork during our visit and is a testament to all former keepers.

The paintwork looks great – blending into the tarmac on our drive and will look cool at night.

Glass and Trim
Both are in excellent condition across the car.

The interior is in immaculate condition. You are treated with the racing style experience you come to expect with a ‘Cossie’. White stitching add the final touches to a beautiful interior. As you step into the cabin you see the serial number, P-02, signed off by the technical director.

Seats and Carpets
These seats are in excellent condition and we see them lasting for some time. All carpets look clean from back to front.

The gauges and interior are in very good condition, as can be seen in the media file. Turning on the ignition looks to be a pleasant experience through sound and vision – please watch the ‘On the Road’ video.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick
STi centrepiece on the steering looks tidy – overall in excellent condition. Gear stick is in expected condition of the car’s mileage. You are treated with driving modes just below – take your pick.

Driving enthusiastically through the beautiful Devon roads, Jacob and Phil have a great time. They put the rev counter and all capabilities to the test and were delighted with this roaring machine. Cosworth have done a great job – this is a track-influenced machine, you won’t be disappointed. The 2.5L engine is turbocharged, achieving 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds – top speed of 155mph.

Engine and Gearbox
The car started first go from cold – (see the ‘On the Road’ video). Phil assures us that everything is from the factory and it looks incredibly clean as can be seen in the photos. The gear changes are smooth on our ride out.

Suspension and Brakes
There were no knocks or rattles on the drive out. Please watch the video to see the car accelerating, steering and stopping. The improved components such as suspension, brakes and chassis are much welcomed and are tested on our drive out.

The Drive
The car really drives great – watch Phil and Jacob joke about a typical Devon vehicle in front of them. It looked capable in its surroundings and we were happy with the drive out. Although you have enjoyment of Cosworth components, this possesses the practicality of an everyday hatchback.

Electrics and Other
The electrics all work as expected along with all buttons and switches being great condition. This hatch is ready to drive and enjoy.

P-02 was the second production example to be used in press releases and could be yours to enjoy. Cosworth made this car in England and 75 were produced for Britain only.

This car has been enjoyed by its previous owners but also kept in excellent condition. Some brake discs and few minor parts were changed, please see all paperwork given by Phil in the media file.

‘Scoobie’ and ‘Cossie’ as many of us refer to them have blessed us with a vehicle that will become a true classic in the future. But for now this rallying heritage, everyday hatchback will serve a purpose to a new owner that is ready to have fun in a rare example.

This car has a story to tell, and many more stories can be told on your travels with this beast. Everything is clean and been cared for as expected. We would like to thank Phil for letting us help him find a genuine owner this car deserves.

Phil is looking forward to the new owner to enjoy this as he embarks on more ‘Cossie’ projects in the future.

Hi Phil, is there just a buy it now price that you have in mind? I’m not one to care much for auctions. But if i see what i like then i buy it. Here is my number if you care to private chat about the car.

Hi Graeme, the guide is 23-25k and you can submit an offer before the auction commences. In my opinion this car is really competitively priced against the rest of the CS400 market on offer. Lots of interest for this rare car P0-2. Cheers Phil

Hi Phil,

Very nice looking car, been after one for a while now, i dont think im too far from you would it be possible to view the car sometime?

Also the steering wheel looks like it has quite a lot of wear on it, is that correct from what i can see in the pictures?

And the front lower bumper area looks quite stonechipped, is it as bad as it looks.

Car looks really nice and tiday everywhere.
