Introduction
Alan Stuart
The Sunbeam Alpine is one of Britain's most charming 1960s sports cars, combining elegant styling with relaxed touring manners and simple mechanicals.
This Series III example has clearly been cherished throughout its life, remaining largely original while benefiting from carefully considered upgrades that make it an even more enjoyable classic to drive today.
Having spent 15 years with its previous keeper before changing hands around 18 months ago, it has proven itself on European touring adventures.
This listing was written from information supplied by Alan after meeting Patrick the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi Patrick, Can you please confirm that, as of the March 2026 inspection, the chassis, sills, floors and suspension mounting points were all structurally sound, with no significant corrosion or previous structural welding? If you are aware of any such repairs or issues, please disclose them.
Hi and thank you for your question. On inspection the car is solid underneath with no obvious signs of corrosion. The car has undoubtedly had chassis repairs over its 63 years and there is a record of chassis repairs in the 1990s in the car’s history file. I hope this is helpful and wish you all the best should you decide to bid. Patrick
Hi Patric
Is there a soft top with the car
Hi John. There is a red soft top with the car that was fitted about 1995. It served us well on our trip to France in June.
can i ask what price are you lookiing for so i will know if its in my price range..
Hi Rocky,
All our cars have a reserve unless stated otherwise, we can’t disclose this as it undermines the auction.
Thanks,
Colin.
Hi, would you be willing to have the car MOT tested prior to the auction ending?
Hi and apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Although I don’t MOT my classic cars as they’re exempt I do have an annual check undertaken on each car by the classic car mechanic who works on my cars, Richard Sink of RS Autos Classic Car Repairs in Petersfield. This includes a full inspection underneath the car and checks on all wheel bearings, tyres and brakes as well as a full service including the usual oil and filter change, new plugs etc. He also checks and tops up all fluids including gearbox/overdrive unit and the rear axle. For the Alpine this year Richard identified a number of issues that were addressed. This included new front O/S and N/S brake callipers, a new N/S front brake pipe, new front springs and shocks as well as O/S and N/S rear brake cylinders. All fitted in March 2026 with authentic Rootes parts. There is a receipt for this work with the car’s history file. I hope this helps to reassure that the car has been looked after.
