Introduction

Dom Ginn
Professional Consigner

Bold, beautiful, and built for thrills - an uncompromising British sports car that turns heads and stirs the soul.

The TVR Tuscan is a bold expression of British engineering and eccentric design - built not just to perform, but to thrill. Launched at the turn of the millennium, the Tuscan broke away from convention with its radical curves, exposed aluminum details, and aircraft-inspired interior. Beneath its sculpted fiberglass body lies a naturally aspirated straight-six engine developed in-house by TVR, delivering serious power and sound in equal measure.

Lightweight construction and rear-wheel drive make for a pure, analog driving experience; unfiltered, engaging, and at times wild. With no ABS, no airbags, and no driver aids, the Tuscan rewards skill and confidence behind the wheel. It’s a car that demands attention, not just for how it looks, but for how it makes you feel every time you fire it up. Whether parked or pushing the limits, the Tuscan is a true icon of individuality.

With considerably low mileage, the TVR comes with two sets of keys, alarm sensor and immobiliser and drivers folio with 19 service stamps. Over ~£2,700 worth of servicing was carried out by Hilton & Moss in July 2024, fewer than 200 miles ago. These works covered off the regular valve clearance adjustment, replacement spark plugs, fuel and oil filters; new engine mounts and new oil pipes.

The Tuscan is well set for the summer with its lightweight targa top, but equally at home in all conditions.

A race car at heart, this TVR is a real stand out both in its design and its performance.

This listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Ollie the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

One of my favourite cars of all time - it was on the 'must have' list for years, and I'm so glad to have owned it.

The current owner has owned the car for nearly 11 years now and has loved every minute of driving it, telling us, "Its one of those cars you just sit back and admire. It's truly a work of art and the design is one of the biggest appeals to me. Crafted looks, incredible shape and the speed to match the style. It's a car to be really proud of".

With quick and sporty cars very much part of the current owners motoring identity, the TVR was a natural choice.

With a more accessible car on the horizon, the TVR reluctantly comes up for sale.

Ollie will be happy to answer any questions in the comments section below.

Exterior

Sweeping lines, dramatic curves, and sculpted bodywork make the Tuscan a rolling piece of automotive art.

Wheels and Tyres

The Tuscan comes with 18" 7-spoke wheels with TVR centre caps. All appeared to be in really good condition and we didn’t notice any major issues, just the occasional age-related marks here and there.

The front and rear of the car is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres with the front show a spec of 235/40 and 245/40 to the rear - these are date coded from 2020.

Please take a look at the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior of the TVR and a closer look at the wheels and tyres to make your own assessment of their condition.

image

Bodywork

Overall the bodywork of the TVR is in very good condition - the panel lines look straight and well-aligned and both doors, bonnet and boot open and close without concern with the panels gaps all looking to line up well too.

We noted no issues with any signs of corrosion mainly due to the body being crafted from fibreglass. There were no obvious signs of dings or major marks to the panels either.

Being picky, on the underside, we noted a few scuff marks, mainly as the car sits low on the road.

We've highlighted our observations in more detail through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take the time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

image

Paint

The Tuscan is finished in "Lapis Blue", a smart colour choice for the TVR.

The coverage is nice and even across the car with no noted difference over the panels and the car has has PPF applied.

Of course there are some minor stone chips that have been picked up over its miles, and a few marks to the front, mainly around the lower part of the car and bonnet edges - although these weren't overly concerning. We noted a coupe of marks to the boot edge, but again, nothing that a little paint correction couldn't resolve.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there yourself. Please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car to form your own opinion about the condition of the paint.

image

Glass and Trim

Overall the glass and trim on the Tuscan showed in smart shape with no major cause for concern. The seals look good around the outside and in line with the rest of the condition of the car; all was displaying well.

The trim and body fittings are in very good shape, with no issues noted on the lights or lenses. The front, side and rear badges all presented well. A lovely highlight was the carbon fibre styled, twin exhausts, finishing off the sporty look of the TVR nicely to the rear.

We've taken you around the car in greater detail in our exterior review video, please take the time to look over the video and see how the glass and trim look from different perspectives.

image

Interior

A cockpit like no other - futuristic design, beautifully sweeping dash, aircraft-style switchgear, and pure drama throughout.

Seats and Carpets

The cabin seats showed well and are finished in full Magnolia leather. The seats were in lovely shape, with no major concerns, just the typical signs of usage on the drivers seat and a few normal creases to the leather.

Carpets in the front of the cabin show in smart condition (just some of the usual fading on the transmission tunnel), and the floorpans under the carpets showed no concerning issues.

We've captured high-resolution photos and a full interior video tour through the car. This covers off the angles inside the car for you to review and appreciate the condition of what's on offer here in our interior review section.

image

Dashboard

The dash across the centre console all appears in excellent condition with no issues to report. The yellow driver facing dial looked stunning and the digital interface was functioning as expected. The odometer showed with just ~26,957 miles at the time of our visit. The uniquely styled switch gear was a lovely highlight in the cabin area.

The dials, and controls all appeared to show very smartly, with surfaces free from fogging or scratching. We noted no issues with any warning lights and the speedometer, fuel gauge, oil temp, rev counter and digital clock and were all functioning without concern when starting up and driving the car.

image

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The TVR branded, 'Personal' steering wheel shows in brilliant condition and is in keeping with the rest of the interior.

The gear selector also looks to be in great condition, mirroring the rest of the quality.

A truly stunning cabin and a great place to be out on the road.

We've captured high-resolution photos for you to review and appreciate the condition of the interior in our gallery section.

Mechanics

A hand-built 3.6L straight-six that’s anything but ordinary - raw, responsive, and roaring with attitude.

Engine and Gearbox

Starting up from cold, we noted no concerns and the TVR performed without issue when running and out on the road. The car idled smoothly and its engine was easily capable of taking the driver up to speed in no time at all once it had warmed up. The manual gearbox showed no concerns with shifting the Tuscan through to the gears.

We noted a slight ding on the engine cover under the bonnet, although nothing that was a real concern.

We took the car out around some local roads with the current owner to get a better feel for what this vehicle is all about. Take a look at the mechanical video to see the car starting up and more detail in the engine bay.

image

Suspension and Brakes

We noted no knocks, bangs or issue from the suspension when we were on the road in the car, and it gave us no concerns in its performance or handling. Looking over the underside of the car during our visit, noted no concerns and overall it showed well here, just a slight scuff to the front where the car sits lower on the road.

The brakes bring the car to a halt in a straight line with no juddering reported through the pedal - the stopping power and control felt great, and in-line with our expectations for a car of this quality.

Please take a look over the mechanical videos and photographs to see close-up images from under the car.

image

The Drive

The TVR handles well with precise steering and a direct level of feedback from the road. The current owner, Ollie, tells us more about his driving experience with the Tuscan, "It's almost like driving a race car. Fast, responsive and grips to the ground so well. It's such a brilliant car to drive, especially with the roof down".

Designed in-house by TVR, the Tuscan engine delivers explosive power and an unforgettable soundtrack, making every drive a visceral experience. Truly a drivers car and for those who like performance.

image

Electrics and Other

During our time with the vehicle we noted that all switches, dials, and gauges appear undamaged and are in really great condition. The TVR is complete with two sets of keys, TVR service book, folio, fire extinguisher and a warning triangle located in the boot.

The car also comes with a Pioneer CD stereo and speaker system.

Ollie told us everything was in working order, as far as he was aware.

image

History and Paperwork

With under 4,000 miles covered in the past decade and ~£2.7k in servicing last year alone, this TVR is well prepped and ready for plenty of fun ahead.

The TVR comes with two sets of keys, an alarm sensor, immobiliser, and a drivers' folio featuring 19 service stamps. In July 2024, under 200 miles ago, over £2,700 was spent on servicing at Hilton & Moss, including valve clearance adjustment, new spark plugs, fuel and oil filters, engine mounts, and oil pipes.

We cover off a full overview of the TVR's history in our paperwork gallery.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.
