This era of SL models is packed with reliable electronics and top-quality engineering. Colin, the owner of the vehicle has owned it for 3 and a half years and has kept it in excellent condition with mileage on an equal footing. We can’t wait to show you our visit, please see down below.

Meet the owner

Colin loves a sports car. Sadly, his wife passed away just before he bought the vehicle, but with his positive attitude about life, he wanted to make the most it and bought a sporty Mercedes that he has always wanted to experience.

He was extremely diligent with his purchase. After talking to a Mercedes club, they recommended him to a specialist. His diligence did not diminish at this point and requested that the specialists call him when the right one came around. He certainly made a good decision.

Colin has embarked on four shows and two continental tours to Holland and Germany in this vehicle and loved every second of it. We at Trade Classics are sure that the new owner will treat this machine as well as Colin has – we cannot wait to find it a new home.

Colin assures us – and backed up through paperwork – that this car has been fixed by specialists every time.

Wheels and Tyres

The cars alloys are still in excellent condition. Colin told us in the meet the owner video he has changed the tyres last year (Maxxis Premitra 5), and they look in really good condition too.

Bodywork

The bodywork is in excellent condition.

Paint

The silver paint is in excellent condition upon our inspection. The only thing Colin pointed that the new owner could remedy is the stone chips along the bottom front bumper. Apart from that, nothing was pointed during our inspection of the bodywork.

Glass and Trim

Both are in excellent condition across the car.

Interior

There have been slight repairs to the interior and the very good history shown with the car is a testament to the care it has had over the years. As always please see our thorough photos and videos.

Seats and Carpets

The seats have been repaired and are now in excellent condition. The carpets are also very clean and showing no sign of wear and tear.

Dashboard

The gauges and interior are in excellent condition.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Both are in very good condition with no issues.

Mechanics

It was a pleasure to sit alongside Colin as he took us around his local area of Bedworth where he showed us going through the gears and testing all other functionalities of the car. As you can see in the videos, Colin has really enjoyed himself in this car over the last three years and desperately wants someone else to care for it.

Engine and Gearbox

As you can see in the videos there were absolutely no issues in this respect. Colin assures us that the automatic gearbox is “very responsive”. The engine is a 3.2L straight 6.

Suspension and Brakes

There were no knocks or rattles on the drive out. Please watch the video to see the car performing. We were really impressed and it is a credit to Colin.

The Drive

The drive was extremely pleasurable. It also comes with sports mode.

Electrics and Other

At the time of inspection all the electrics were working well. Colin assures us that there are no problems he has encountered.

History and Paperwork

This car has a really good history. Colin has kept everything in chronological order in a nice booklet that will be handed to the new owner.

The car has has 2 previous owners and only has 50,000+ miles on the clock. The mileage has been ramped up slightly since Colin overtook membership by roughly doing 4,000 per year which confirms its excellent functionality over the last 22 years.
