Introduction
A proper touring car for the road, the Vectra ST3000 offers has all the styling, power, and noise you could want.
The late 1990s were a golden era for touring car racing, and few cars captured the imagination of enthusiasts like the Vauxhall Vectra SuperTouring. While the road-going Vectra may have been a familiar sight on Britain’s roads, the range-topping ST3000 offered a tantalising taste of the performance and attitude that made its racing counterpart so successful.
With its muscular 3.0-litre V6, purposeful styling, and sporting credentials, the ST3000 sits firmly in that sweet spot between everyday practicality and old-school performance. It is a car from an era when a fast saloon could still feel relatively understated, yet deliver plenty of character behind the wheel.
Today, these cars are becoming increasingly rare, making this 1999 Vectra ST3000 an intriguing reminder of Vauxhall’s performance ambitions at the turn of the millennium - and a fascinating piece of British motoring history.
Coming from over twenty one and a half years with our vendor, this ST3000 is one of three built with the Cadillac Catera 3.0-litre engine. The work was carried out by Motor Sport Developments (MSD) in Milton Keynes in June 1999, which designates this Vectra as a ST3000. It was originally supplied by Thurlby Motors.
When the car was sent to MSD, numerous modifications were made:
The new Cadilac Catera engine was stripped down and fitted with a Vectra sump, the flywheel was lightened by 9.7kgs The cylinder heads were gas flowed and valve throats reprofiled.
The exhaust ports were enlarged and the exhaust manifold was changed for a larger gas flowed one.
High lift cams were also fitted.
The ECU was remapped to produce 266b.h.p.
A BTB exhaust was fitted.
A limited slip diff was fitted.
AP racing 330mm front discs were fitted.
Recaro airpump seats fitted.
Suspension lowered and updated.
Body kit fitted.
The whole conversation to an ST3000 took around 200 hours.
The car was last serviced in June 2026 and has a current MOT, valid until 09.06.2027.

Ask Owner
Hi, In response to your first question, the fault with the air bag warning light has already been identified as stated in the vehicle write up as an intermittent fault with the “squab” or slip ring under the steering wheel.
I have a new one which I will supply with the car. No it wasn’t on at the MOT or it would have failed.
In response to your next questions. I don’t know which videos you’ve been watching but
I went to great lengths to ensure the car was in a solid condition when I took it out of storage. I had the car on ramps in 3 different garages for inspection and they all said the same thing. The chassis is in great condition with no welding required.
The only advice I was given was to get it deep cleaned and undersealed which I did. If you look at the images taken, you can see before and after photographs. Yes the wheels need a refurb as stated in the description but a new owner would probably change them anyway. When you say advertised at the MOT I take you mean advisories. You’re free to look it up on the MOT site.
Yes it’s been garaged the whole time I’ve owned it and as far as I’m aware the mileage is correct.
Hi,
Also you say the under body has been freshly cleaned and unsealed but from the videos it does look very rusty and corroded, inc all 4 wheels showing a lot of oxidation.. my question is, was anything advertised of this during the last MOT and service?
Could you also tell me if this vehicle has been garage stored under cover or parked outside? With it not covering a grate meany miles over the last 15-20years
I’m assuming the mileage is also correct?
Hi, I’m assuming that the air bag light on the dash is a recent thing and wasn’t on in June 2026 at the last MOT with it been a MOT failure?
Do we know what’s wrong?
Thanks

Hi Chris, Thanks for your bid. Unfortunately not but there are split rims on the Wheelbase site made by Japan Racing that would look the part.
Hi, do you have the original wheel’s to go with the car?
Thanks
Chris
