Introduction

Chad Hamel-Smith
Modern Performance Specialist

Ferrari derived, 2.9L V6 Twin-Turbo capable of delivering some incredible performance, as well as looking stunning both inside and out.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is an Italian super saloon manufactured to heavily contend with some its German counterparts. The difference here is that the Alfa stands apart from its rivals by not subscribing to looking like anything else out there on the road, whilst still delivering the all important thrilling performance as well as head turning good looks.

The top of the line Giulia Quadrifoglio (Italian for "four leaf clover") was the first model in the new Giulia range. Unveiled in Italy in June 2015, it made its official international debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Powered by an all aluminium alloy, 2.9L V6 Twin-Turbo engine the Alfa is capable of delivering some blistering performance boasting ~510bhp with a 0-62mph time of just ~3.9 seconds.

Mechanically, the engine was developed exclusively for the Quadrifoglio by Ferrari technicians and is fitted with a torque vectoring rear differential able to send 100% of the torque to the left or right wheel. Keeping the engine efficient is an 8-speed automatic transmission manufactured by ZF which can also be controlled with the steering wheel paddle shifters.

From the front, the Quadrifoglio distinguishes itself from the rest of the range with a much more sporty and aggressive setup. A carbon fibre splitter that generates additional downforce, two cooling outlets for the engine bay and enlarged air intakes for the twin intercoolers are some of the first key features that greet you the looking over the car. On the sides, the front wings also have outlets to extract air from the wheel wells and bear the Quadrifoglio badges. At the rear, a carbon fibre lip spoiler is applied to the boot lid, and a rear diffuser makes up the lower half of the bumper, with the quad exhaust system adding to that aggressive look.

This particular example is exceptional, not only do you get all that entertainment on the road, but you also get the benefit of the car having its original owner since purchase, very low mileage at ~13,515 at the time of our visit, an MOT valid until July 2024 and Alfa servicing through its life.

The price quoted here is fully inclusive, i.e. there's nothing else to pay on top and also includes free delivery to any mainland UK destination. I'm here to answer any questions you may have about the car - just select the red 'I'm Interested' button above to get in contact with me.

This listing was written from information supplied by Glyn (our photographer) after meeting Neil the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Exterior

The Quadrifoglio model gets some significant muscular improvements from the base model - bigger wheel arches, lowered suspension, rear diffuser, quad exhausts and carbon fibre upgrades throughout.

Wheels and Tyres

The 19" 5 spoke Gunmetal Alfa alloys look excellent on all four corners around the car and show with very little wear. These wheels were an optional addition from initial purchase at around ~£550 extra on the Alfa's base price.

Running on Pirelli P-Zero Corsa 245/35 on fronts and 285/30 on the rear - the original tyres from initial purchase are fitted showing legal tread that looks in line with the mileage of the car - we did notice a slight sign of a kerb knock on the front nearside tyre. Please see the images to see the condition of the tyres.

Bodywork

The Alfa’s bodywork is in excellent condition; looking around the car, there are no dings that we noted. The door shut lines are visually equal and matching, as are the bonnet and boot.

Also, the car has Zirconite ceramic coating on the paintwork - providing excellent protection against the elements.

Side skirts show in a great condition looking along the edges of the car with a rear diffuser and quad exhaust set up giving the car a nice aggressive stance. Noted on the boot lip was another touch of carbon fibre styling which again showed well.

The carbon fibre front splitter to the front of the car shows a little sign of scuffing on the underside, nothing that was a real concern and likely marked due to the lower profile of the Quadrifoglio.

We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view at what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

Finished in a lovely coat of Alfa Red, the paintwork around the car shows in a great way. If we were being particularly picky there were a few stone chips with a couple noted on the A-Pillars. There was a slight sign of marking on the base of the front quarter panel closest to the nearside front wheel, but nothing that caused a real concern for us looking around the exterior.

Again, we have taken high resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves. The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these high resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

All of the glass sections around the Alfa showed really well with windscreen, windows, mirrors and lenses all appearing in very good condition with no cracks, chips or significant scratching that we observed on our visit.

Carbon fibre optional added extra wing mirrors are in place on the Alfa and look excellent adding a real sporty touch. Should the new owner desire, the factory spec Alfa Red wing mirrors are also included with the purchase should these want to be changed in future.

Take a look through the exterior gallery and review video, we take you across all the areas of the car as if you were standing there for yourself. This way, you can see in greater detail what a great looking car the Alfa really is.

Interior

Legendary Alfa design, decent materials and solid build quality make the interior of the Quadrifoglio a truly inviting and comfortable place to be.

Seats and Carpets

The interior looks in excellent condition. Heated front seats show very nicely and have barely a mark or scuff on them. The rear seats appear as if they've barely been used over the short history of the Alfa's usage.

The contrasting red stitch against the black of the seats and interior looks very smart and provides the driver and passenger with an inviting cabin area. Roof lining shows very well as do the carpet sections and door cards when sat inside.

The interior has also been treated with a protective coating.

Over in the boot section, the carpets show very nicely and are all clean and tidy without cause for concern.

Dashboard

Powering the Alfa up, the white needles cleanly swept around the speed and rpm dials and showed no warning indicators from start up. Whilst out on the road, the fuel gauge did light up as the car needed to be re-fuelled following our 'On The Road' drive.

The instruments present really well showing no signs of fogging or display issues with the odometer showing a reading of ~13,515 miles on clock during our visit. To the centre, the main screen shows the satellite navigation system and infotainment system which we show in more detail on our 'Interior Review' video.

Our interior gallery section takes you over some closer images of the Quadrifoglio's dashboard, head over and see the cars interior in finer detail.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel is in excellent condition with barely a mark on it. Leather bound with red stitch detail, the multi-function wheel keeps the driver focused on the road whilst providing media functions for stereo and call options along with manual 'paddle-shift' levers seated behind the flat based steering wheel.

A red Start / Stop engine button is conveniently placed close to the driver giving a sporty feel to the setup. Keeping with the stylish and modern theme inside the car, carbon fibre sections are present around the auto gear stick.

We've captured high-resolution photos for you to review and appreciate the condition of the interior in our gallery section.

Mechanics

A Ferrari inspired engine generates ~510bhp with a 0-62mph time of just ~3.9 seconds, with a maximum speed of ~191mph.

Engine and Gearbox

Starting up without hesitation, the Alfa gave us no issues from our cold start with a sporty red Start / Stop button firing up the Quadrifoglio as featured in our 'On The Road' video review.

The 2.9L V6 teamed with a smooth 8-speed automatic gearbox, combines a great sense of power with modern technology. The driver is offered Alfa Romeo's "DNA" dynamic control selector, with driving modes including "Dynamic", "Natural" and "Advanced Efficiency" modes and "Race" for high performance, louder exhaust note and much more rapid gear shift response.

The Giulia Quadrifoglio, like many great Alfas, generates ~510bhp with 0-62mph time of just ~3.9 seconds - a real powerhouse on the road.

Suspension and Brakes

The ride felt great whilst on the road with the Alfa - even with its lower stance and suspension. We noticed no knocks, bangs or untoward noises whilst driving with the car performing as it should on a car of this calibre.

With its contrasting red callipers (an optional extra from initial purchase at ~£450) the setup looks great on the Quadrifoglio. Neil, the current owner reports that the brakes bring the Alfa to a stop in good time with no pulling to either side, or juddering coming through the pedal.

The Drive

Alfa Romeo is famed for its driving passion, the experience in the Quadrifoglio is a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding one thanks to its smooth handling, build quality and performance.

With its 50/50 weight distribution, the Alfa gets near perfect balance for un-compromised driving dynamics. Impressively accurate, quick steering means the journey out on the road is well balanced and doesn't leave room for concern.

Boasting Torque Vectoring with real-time torque and power distribution, the drive isn't intimidating, but gives enough room for some real fun thanks to the V6 held underneath the handsomely sculpted bonnet.

Electrics and Other

The Giulia Quadrifoglio has a whole wealth of tech as part of the experience. The infotainment system features an 8.8" multi-touch screen giving access to integrated TomTom satnav, premium stereo system powering the Harman Kardon speaker setup and a host of other extras.

Some more modern conveniences include; keyless entry (driver and passenger doors), electrically adjustable folding door mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, USB and wireless phone charging points.

Whilst out on our drive we also tested the heated seats and climate control system.

An Alfa Romeo battery and flat tyre kit are located in the boot.

History and Paperwork

With its original keeper still owning the Alfa and only ~13,515 miles on clock, the Quadrifoglio has benefitted from Alfa Romeo servicing from new and an MOT that is valid until July 2024.

Being a relatively new car, the Alfa Romeo doesn't come with a wealth of paperwork or history behind it given that it's only been owned for ~1 year, 6 months at our time of visit. The Quadrifoglio does come with a great advantage that its only had its current owner since new which means that should any queries need to be asked, these can be directed straight to the person who knows the most about the car.

The car was purchased in July 2021 and now shows just ~13,515 miles on clock at time of our visit, with the first MOT due on the 21.07.2024 and also has the benefit of Alfa Romeo servicing 3 years from first purchase.

We have been informed that the car has recently been serviced at Alfa Romeo but the current owner hasn't had the owners book updated to reflect this yet. The current owner has let us know that the log book will be updated with the dealers servicing stamp before the final purchase is formalised.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and actioned a HPi check on the vehicle.
