Introduction
Alan Stuart
Few classics capture the spirit of open-top Italian motoring quite like the Alfa Romeo Spider 1750 Duetto.
This 1969 example presents as an honest and usable classic that has clearly been enjoyed as intended. Finished in striking red over a black interior, it offers the perfect balance of style, character, and classic Alfa Romeo charm.
Originally supplied in South Africa before making its way to the UK, this Spider has been in Paolo’s ownership for around 10 years. During that time, it has been cared for and maintained as a cherished classic, with everything reported to be in working order and the car driving exactly as it should.
A genuine enthusiasts' car - this is a wonderfully usable example that offers vintage Italian motoring with all the charm and theatre you would hope for from a late-1960s Alfa Romeo. It comes with a fresh MOT valid until 05.05.2027.
This listing was written from information supplied by Alan after meeting Paolo the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hi Paolo,
Beautiful car, I have a few questions if you don’t mind:
-The service history looks a little thin before it arrived in the UK, are there any records that pre-date 2016?
-There appears to be some rust to the frame and body on the underside of the car (rear), have you had this checked by a specialist?
-Why was the original odometer replaced?
-Is there a reserve price?
Thank you.
Hi and thank you for contacting me.
1) No, there is no history pre 2016 but I had it thoroughly checked by my bodyworker and Alfa’s mechanics. I have certificates confirming/matching chassis and engine numbers.
2) yes there is some rust along those part you mention (alfa, you know…) but underneath the car is solid and with no rust at all. Ready to put it on the bridge and check it or ring my garage. According to my bodyworker who has just retired it is not a big deal to repair. I can give you his phone number if you need to.
3) The odometer was replaced as it was not working anymore but I have it with me. If interested, I should be able to also provide you with the old pair of Webers.
4) yes, there is a reserve price but am not allowed to divulge it, sorry.
Above all, engine is perfect, bushes, breaks, wheels it all works magnificently.
Hope this helps, thank you
Hello, Do you have a record of the date of the re-spray? Thanks
Hi. I dot not have a record, however in 10 years I only carried out 3 small touches to the bodywork. I can give you the contact details of the guy who used to take care of it. He has now retired but he was an Alfa specialist and you can ask him anything. Interested? Thank you!
Many thanks Paolo. That’s good to know.
Is it possible to view the car please Paulo ?
