The Dodge Challenger isn't the newest car on the block, however, Dodge never fails to make the latest version of its famous muscle coupe feel fresh with modern styling upgrades from the previous models. With a ferocious 5.7L V8 engine and plenty of grip to use it, you'll be gifted with a gorgeous soundtrack on every journey.

This car offers the best way to relive the muscle-car-dream, and this R/T spec is the one to get. Imported in December as a brace by the vendor, they've opted to keep the V6 variant as a daily driver. He reports this V8 is in a lane of its own, and it's just been treated to a full service when imported, ready for the new owner.

Exterior

Modern muscle car styling, but you can still see the classic Challenger styling.

Wheels and Tyres

The R/T trim comes with 20"x8" Granite Crystal wheels which present in excellent condition on this Challenger. When getting really close we notice two small scratches to the front offside wheel spokes.

For tyres the wheels are fitted with Goodyear eagle RS-A2's at the front, dated 2019 and Kumho Kurgen HP-91's at the rear, also dated 2019. Both sets of tyres have a great amount of tread remaining.

We have captured an overview of wheels and tyres in the detailed photos and videos.

Bodywork

During our visit, the bodywork highlighted no major areas of concern. All the panels looking very straight and true. However, If we're being really picky, the front bumper doesn't quite line up straight on the offside panel gap.

Esa reports the doors, boot, and bonnet open and close just as they should. We have taken extensive hi-resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves.

[Update 21/02/2022] - Based on new information, this car has previously been marked as salvage/recorded as such on a Carfax report in the USA, and has since been repaired as pictured. However, as per the pictures and videos, we think the quality of the repairs are of a very high standard.

Paint

Finished in a Granite Crystal Metallic, a classic and popular choice for this agressive cat, and we can see why. The paint appeared in great condition on our visit, finished to a very high standard, with even coverage and colour across each panel.

This Challenger has dual hood stripes, with red outer pinstripes covering the length of the car.

We did notice a very light chip on the offside rear arch, and a scratch on the nearside wing, however, you'll have to get really close to notice these. Again, please take time to review all the images and videos showing the paint from different angles and reflections, to assess the condition for yourselves.

Glass and Trim

The glass on this example looks good - we didn't notice any chips, cracks, or discolouration on our visit.

The window seals look good too and in line with the rest of the condition of the car.

Interior

A redesigned interior with straightforward switchgear offers a roomy and comfortable cabin for long journeys.

Seats and Carpets

This car has been kitted out with Houndstooth Performance Seats finished with red leather inner cushions and black sides bolster, for a sporty and modern look.

As you would expect for a well-looked after sports car, the interior matches the exterior and appears in excellent condition. The door cards, diamond-stitched carpets, and headlining all present in great condition with no issues worth noting.

Dashboard

As with the rest of the car, a really nice soft leather and high-quality aluminum design throughout. A clean and stylish dashboard and performance-focused instrument cluster.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Both the steering wheel and automatic gearstick are in a condition you would expect from this car with challenger detailing giving it a special feel - we didn't observe any excessive signs of wear and tear and both items present smartly.

Mechanics

A refined 5.7L HEMI engine output means this is ready to compete against any European sports coupe.

Engine and Gearbox

Every Dodge Challenger R/T comes with the Dodge 5.7L V8. Iterations of this legendary HEMI engine has dominated drag racing since the 50s. This is the third generation with various upgrades and modern features such as it being an aluminium block and having fuel injection variable valve timing, and available multi-displacement mode.

Watch the cold start video to view Esa turning the car over and letting it run up to temperature without any issues, as well as a drive around his local city.

Suspension and Brakes

Esa reports a very enjoyable and performance-focused journey in the R/T, with the suspension offering a firm ride and prompt stopping power from the performance brake discs and pads.

The Drive

Esa reports his experience with this vehicle being incredibly fun. "The looks, the sound, the feeling of driving a pure muscle car has genuinely filled my wishes of owning a car like this and I recommend everyone to own one in their lifetime".

Electrics and Other

Being a 2019 model, this R/T is fitted with a long list of technology, including a rearview camera, Uconnect 4 infotainment system with a seven-inch screen, and a six-way powered driver’s seat.

All the electrical items on the car are reported to be functional and fully working to Esa's knowledge.

A rare sight on UK roads - this 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T is a real head turner with its glorious naturally-aspirated roar.

Esa imported the car in December last year along with a V6 version, therefore the car is coming out of short 2 months of ownership. He has had a full service carried out on the car including the air filter, oil filter, oil change, A/C service, transmission, vehicle inspection, and radiator. Esa will be happy to answer any of your questions in the comments below.
