Introduction

Darren Rungasamy
Photographer & Consigner

The ultimate 200mph dream machine with complete Ferrari service history.

When unleashed to the world in 2002, the Ferrari 575M Maranello was considered one of the best-handling front-engined cars to grace the earth. Its Formula 1 inspired paddle-shift gearbox combined with a 5-litre V12 is capable of reaching 200mph and placed it as the ultimate grand tourer. Finished in Grigio Titanio Grey, with Sand leather hide adorning the interior, now is the time to buy one of these modern Pininfarina classics.

With full Ferrari service and stamps, this former JCT600 demo car is furnished with factory-fitted Scuderia shields and coloured coded interior is just one of 179 RHD F1-gearbox cars. It has covered less than 1000 miles over the last two years and is as original as you might hope to expect, complete with its original leather-bound tool case, as well as Ferrari torch. It comes with a huge file full of paperwork, with the servicing carried out by Ferrari themselves.

This auction listing was written from information supplied by Darren Rungasamy after meeting Helen the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

Time is moving on but at least I can say I've owned a V12 Ferrari!

Helen bought the car to appease the speed freak in her. The fully documented history and subtle styling also appealed to her, but she's decided to thin out her collection to concentrate on her classic American cars and Triumph motorcycle.

Exterior

The 575M supercar status is reassured with the Maranello, time has been kind to the design.

Wheels and Tyres

The Pirelli P-Zero tyres are in excellent condition, with plenty of tread left in them. All tyres have no signs of cracking due to age.

The alloys are in excellent condition as you can see from the images and videos.

Bodywork

The condition of the bodywork is in excellent condition, especially considering this car is now seventeen years old and maturing nicely into one of the all-time great V12 Ferraris.

There are just a few small issues to note: a small corrosion mark on the top edge of the bonnet and emblem and around the windscreen. Another area of bubbling under the paint can be seen to the left of the offside Ferrari shield emblem.

The front bumper has evidence of a quality and professional respray at some point of its life too, not unusual and most likely to resolve stone chips.

There are no dents, scratches on the rest of the bodywork but there is evidence of 'hypertension' door damage on the driver's side.

The panel gaps are true and even across the whole car.

Paint

The paint finish is excellent and we could see no evidence of overspray or touch-up.

The lustre is deep and even; all panels have the same consistency of colour coverage.

Glass and Trim

All the glass and rubber are in excellent condition, with no major hazing or scratches.

The exterior trim on the car is in good order and in good condition, this includes the chrome work on the badges, mesh over the intakes, light covers and wing mirrors.

Interior

The sumptuous tasteful finishing and elegant touches betray the car's age.

Seats and Carpets

The cars low mileage and careful ownership are evident by the condition of the seats and carpets.

There is minor wear on the leather seats, but the quality of stitching and finish of the leather means it wears everyday use well.

The carpets are unmarked and have no evidence of water ingress.

The headlining and parcel shelf, as well as the carpet areas behind the seats and the boot, are excellent.

Dashboard

The controls and finishing on the dashboard have worn well, although there clear signs of age on the passenger side dashboard.

There are also signs of splits on the dashboard top - not unusual on this model.

The overall condition of the leather on door cards, transmission tunnel and around the lower sections of the dashboard are in good condition, with no major signs of damage, just age related wear showing the originality of the car.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel is in good condition, the stitching and condition of leather have worn very well.

The paddle-shift controls and handbrake show wear in line with the car's age and mileage.

Mechanics

A modern day Italian V12 Ferrari for the price of a German company car - surely there's no decision to be made.

Engine and Gearbox

The car has covered less than 1000 miles over the last two years, with just over 200 in the last year and up until that point was regularly used and serviced annually by Ferrari.

The 575M are relatively uncomplicated machines, so its light recent use and history suggest that mechanically the car should not cause any issues, but would no doubt benefit from a service.

The paddle-gearbox is said to function very well without issues.

Suspension and Brakes

The current owner has confirmed that the brakes and suspension are in good working order.

There are no signs of misuse or surface corrosion of the components.

The Drive

There are no other two ways about it these are exceptional cars to drive, the owner has used it gently during their ownership and kept the engine well within the lower limits of its range.

The general condition of the engine and brakes and tyres suggests that it has not been worked hard in their 2-year ownership.

Electrics and Other

All items on the car are said to be functional, the car recent MOTs have not shown up any advisories.

History and Paperwork

These cars are thoroughbreds, so need to be well maintained - this is one has been looked after.

This example has an excellent history file, going back to when the car was new.

It has been maintained by Ferrari dealers since new, with the most recent service at 73,803 miles in 2018.

It also comes with the original specification checklist, which confirms all the factory added options.

As well as the service records stamps, it has been subject to numerous health checks with many items replaced.

The car comes with a current MOT.

Hi Helen. Would you consider a part exchange deal with a Range Rover vogue 5.0 autobiography and cash your way? I am ready to do a deal as soon as possible.

Hey Scott,

Which wing are you referring to? Nearside or offside?

Best,

Neither wing has been replaced. The front bumper was removed and repainted because of stone chips and some grazing. The rear bumper was also repainted at the same time.

Car used to belong to me. Clutch wear very low and info is on last service documents from Carrs. If I recall, less than 20%. Hypertension?… door opens beyond the check strap and the door skin is stressed by that… doesn’t affect operation of the door at all
