Introduction
Paul Wright
One of the truly great icons of the 90s era of hot saloons.
The Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth follows on from its motorsport-bred predecessor. It retained much of the same overall feel, but subtly tweaked the handling traits of the original. Packaged in a more practical, stiffer, and manageable car, the Sierra Sapphire was rolled out in 1988 with well-weighted steering and an excellent balance of agility and stability. The Sierra Sapphire makes for a genuinely engaging drive.
What a lovely example: a 1991 Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4x4, which received a body restoration by a previous keeper prior to it being given away in an online competition by Redline Competitions. The competition was won by our vendor, Mark, who has now owned the car for a couple of years. It comes with a current MOT, valid until 10th October 2026.
This listing was written from information supplied by Paul after meeting Mark the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hello Mark I’m interested in bidding on your car but when auction finishes I’ve still got 18 days of offshore work would it be an issue to pay you a deposit and collect when I’m home?
Hi don’t think that would be a problem but I would check with tradeclassics as don’t know how payment is made after sale.
Thanks
Great car, it looks like the car has not been serviced since 06.07.2017, As no receipt or stamp in the book. Could you give some more info on what you have done to the car? Cheers J.

Thanks
Hi Andy,
The car is in Wigan with Mark, if you’d like to arrange a viewing we can help organise it, if you could send an email to [email protected] first, we just need to do some checks.
Thanks,
Colin.
