Introduction
Darren Rungasamy
The 997 Turbo is a definitive icon for enthusiasts who demand both pedigree and practicality.
The Porsche 911 (997) Turbo is widely regarded as the high-water mark for the water-cooled 911 era. Blending world-class performance with everyday usability, it serves as the ultimate "all-weather" supercar.
At its heart lies the legendary 3.6L "Mezger" engine, a motorsport-derived powerhouse famous for its immense strength and reliability. With its advanced four-wheel-drive system and the introduction of Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG), the 997 Turbo delivers explosive acceleration and surgical precision, all while maintaining the refined road manners of a luxury grand tourer.
Generating approximately 475 BHP via twin turbochargers delivered through an all-wheel-drive system, the car’s sporting credentials are unquestionable. This remarkable capability transforms a high-performance machine into a versatile vehicle that is as exhilarating on the open road as it is composed and civilised in daily driving.
Coming from almost 3 years with our vendor this smartly presented 2008 997 Turbo is finished in 'Basalt Black' over a black leather interior and has just ~48,015 recorded miles. It features the desirable Sport Chrono Plus package paired with the 5-speed Tiptronic S transmission. The car benefits from a recent gearbox rebuild and is supported by an impressive maintenance history, including over £13,000 in invoices.
Having been last serviced in March 2026, the vehicle is accompanied by its full owner’s wallet and booklets, along with two keys and an MOT valid until July 2026.
This listing was written from information supplied by Darren after meeting Tim the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Hi Tim,
I’m currently the highest bidder really like the car and how it’s been presented.
Just had a couple of quick questions so I can understand things longer-term:
– Has any of the suspension been refreshed (PASM dampers, arms, bushes), or is it largely original?
– Have the front radiators/condensers ever been replaced or cleaned out?
– Are the coolant pipes/hoses original, or have any been done?
– Are the turbos original, and have they been trouble-free?
– Do you know if the front discs/pads have been replaced recently?
And just one more if you were keeping the car or buying it again now, is there anything you’d proactively replace or address at this stage?
Nothing concerning from the listing just trying to plan ahead a bit.
Thanks again really appreciate how well the car seems to have been looked after.
Hey Aaron – Thanks for the interest & bid!
Discs & pads were replaced just before i got it, in Late ’22 (about 8k miles ago)
Rest is all original (suspension/coolant pipes etc.)
In terms of the turbos – they were one of my watchouts when buying, so had them thoroughly checked over. Nothing at all indicating any potential issues in the near future. If you check out the 911uk forums, you’ll see there are a couple of turbocharger specialists that strip & rebuild the units – so it’s not necessarily an eyewateringly expensive…… Still expensive, just not 997tt expensive 😉
(But to be clear – no issues are presenting with any of the above)
Condensors & Rads were cleared out last year when i had the front off – the aircons rads would be the next bit i would have done, but its more of a cosmetic piece than preventative mechanical maintainance.
If you look at the condition health check (Jan ’26) in the doc pack it should give you a pretty good steer.
Or give David at Eporsch a bell – they know the car.
Good luck with the bids, and feel free to reach out with any other questions.
(BTW, Sorry – I’ve just seen that you’d messaged on my 911uk for sale post earlier this week)
Thanks for detailed response.
